Chapter 28: What's Left Behind

"Are you sure you want me to take all this?"

"Yes, please do, take it. I'm glad to hear that Bowman-san is doing well.”

When I went to the blacksmiths' workshop and recovered the tools that Bowman had been using and told them what he had been up to, they seemed happy and pleased as if it were them.

Well, unlike me, that guy was well-liked. Besides, he went to ...... Asgard. They didn't think we were all still alive.

“Yeah, I'll let him know that everyone was worried about him, but he seems to be busy...... Are you making a lot of mithril swords?”

“Thank you. Well, it's my job..... but I'm sure Bowman-san is enjoying himself now that he can make what he wants....."

They look a little gloomy when they say that they still seem to be making weapons and armor as usual. The glittering mithril is being processed here and there.

The person who bowed politely to me was a servant named Tia. She was Kyle’s personal maid and one of the few people who had treated me as royalty. I wasn't particularly close to her, but I didn't have any bad feelings towards her. But it's not the kind of relationship that would make her come all the way to see me.

So I guess ...... that has something to do with it. I'm a little nervous.

“Grace-sama ... do you know what happened to Kyle-sama? He hasn’t come back since he said he’d leave the royal capital and go for a little inspection.”

Then she gripped the hem of her dress tightly. Oh, she knew about it… she stays in the royal castle, Of course she knows that I fought him off…. I don't think I did anything wrong by killing Kyle, but I do feel slightly guilty about it.

When she said that, her face twisted in sadness for a moment, then she immediately put on a smile and walked away. It must have been a mistake, because I heard sobbing coming from the direction she was walking.

I don't know what the story was between Kyle and her. For me, Kyle was always a condescending asshole, but for her, maybe he was different.

But… I fought to protect Vigna, Bowman, and the people of Asgard.
