Chapter 74: Allied Forces

 ◇ [Eldor's perspective]

—— May 6th, around 8 a.m., Conference Room of the Allied Forces Headquarters, comprising the "Elf Army," "Adventurer Guild," and "Melkid Kingdom Army."

After a knock on the door, a single male Elf entered.

He tried to appear calm, but his breathing was slightly labored.

It seems he ran all the way here.

In this conference room of the Allied Forces Headquarters, the highest authority of the Adventurer Guild, Grandmaster Legolas, the General of the Melkid Kingdom Army, Gibson, and various military advisors from each army had gathered.

To think that a fellow Elf would behave so nervously and lack elegance...

I can't admire the spectacle of the proud Elf race showing such an undignified side to so many people.

"I report. We have succeeded in luring the demon army, our enemy, with the usual bait! We plan to infiltrate from the demon territory's forest to Point A in about two hours."

"Ohh, so the most challenging part of this operation has succeeded this time!"

"With this, the operation can be considered a success."

To get so excited over such a trivial matter... I can understand for inferior human beings, but this messenger is still hopeless.

Of course, the operation would succeed. After all, I personally commanded it.

"So, is the report over?"

"I-I apologize. Eldor-sama, our 'God's Legion Einfalia,' the 'Guild Army,' and the 'Melkid Kingdom Army' are all in position."

Fufufufu. "Einfalia"... What a pleasant sound.

Elves are the only race recognized by God.

To name that legion "God's Legion Einfalia" is quite intimidating, considering the sense of superiority.

The border between the human and demon territories is a plain. The Allied Forces refer to the demon territory side as Point A and the human territory side as Point B.

This Allied Forces Headquarters is located one kilometer away from Point B on the human race side.

The total military force mobilized for this operation consists of 1,000 soldiers from the "God's Legion Einfalia," 10,000 from the Melkid Kingdom Army, and 500 adventurers from the Adventurer Guild, among which 100 are from another world.

The adventurers from another world in the Adventurer Guild are all members stationed at the guild headquarters in the capital, Melkid.

It seems they couldn't gather adventurers from other cities and villages in time.

"Thank you for the report. You may return. General Gibson, please ensure everything goes smoothly. And do not forget the purpose of this battle."

"Yeah, I know. You don't need to worry about us. More importantly, I'm curious if the bait worked as intended. No matter how well we plan the hunt, it's meaningless without any prey."

This person, Gibson, is in his forties and has a tough appearance, but he is well-liked by his subordinates and highly trusted. He is considered a father and a close friend by Arthur and Mary, who are known as the strongest humans.

"Don't worry. Grandmaster Legolas, the highest authority of the Adventurer Guild, handled that point flawlessly."

"General Gibson, you can rest assured about the success of the bait. Our information network confirms that they took the bait as expected. However, they're not opponents you can handle easily. Never let your guard down."

Legolas utilized his position as the highest authority of the Adventurer Guild to establish his own communication network using the skills of people from another world. These people from another world possess skills entirely different from those of this world's races. Though their numbers are overwhelmingly small, their skills can be both beneficial and threatening.

These otherworlders only appear among humans. That's why our Elf race established the Adventurer Guild, effectively encompassing them within the Elf's domain.

The founding principle of the Adventurer Guild is to "protect all races from the threat of monsters" and not get involved in inter-racial wars. It's amusing that nobody would dare to reprimand us even if we disregard this rule.

"It was an elaborate scheme devised by the two Elf representatives over the course of several years. I hope it goes smoothly. I'll head to Point A to fight against the demon army. Eldor Ambassador, please ensure everything is prepared accordingly. I take my leave now."

General Gibson left the Allied Forces Headquarters.

He had the nerve to say "flawlessly" to me. A human...

"How was he? Does his involvement in this operation prove that he is more cooperative and easier to manage than Arthur?"

Before the start of this operation, Legolas recommended him to me, stating that he was more cooperative and easier to handle than Arthur.

"What if he's secretly connected to Arthur? Do we have any guarantee that he won't betray us?"

"Oh, yes, we do. To bring him into this operation, I had him directly kill Arthur's best friend. It seems to be a ritual of sorts among people from another world. He won't side with Arthur anymore."

 Legolas smiles proudly.

Who would have thought that the position of Grandmaster could be so useful? I used to think it was just a ceremonial title.

"This jester must perform his role properly."

"Yes, everything is proceeding according to the plan."

This operation was planned by Legolas. I can't understand why we're going to such great lengths for that person.

Even the Elder who approved this operation may have finally become senile.

Well, it doesn't matter. I will become the Elder and lead the Elf race.

Legolas, you better work for me with all your might.
