Chapter 13: Arrange

Mia and I decided to form a party together.

It seems that registering the party with the adventurer's guild is necessary. This is because the results of quests are recorded for all members of the party.

We immediately registered our party at the adventurer's guild.

The name of the party is "Arrange". Our party name is "Arrange." The name comes from Mia-san's idea that our skills fit perfectly with the meaning of the word "arrange: improving by adding something", and I think it's a good name too.

As we were choosing a quest to rank up to E-rank in front of the quest board, we heard voices in the distance.

"Hey, those guys formed a party. It's hilarious that they're two useless F-rankers."

"Isn't that the drawing girl? She still has the motivation to be an adventurer. Wouldn't it be better for her to draw something and sell it to the rich instead?"

Mia's face stiffened little by little.

I tapped Mia's right shoulder, smiled, and told her not to worry about it.

For the quests, I decided to receive "Goblin subjugation (30 or more): E rank", "Poison frog subjugation (10 or more): E rank", and "One-horned rabbit horns: E rank".

Mia looked worried after learning about the content of the quests.

"Um... All of those quests are E-rank, but..."

"Yes. F-rank quests are just errands. We won't gain much experience, so we chose E-rank quests."

"Are you sure it's okay? I can't even defeat a single goblin", looking at me with a worried face.

I look at her and saaid, "Here. take this."

What is this?"

"It's a secret weapon. I'll have you fight with it."

That evening, we returned to the adventurer's guild. There weren't any old men, but other adventurers came up to us.

"Oi oi, I heard you guys accepted an E-rank quest. Even though you can't clear an F-rank quest?  Kukukuku..."

Hahahahaha... The people around us were laughing too.

"I have some business at the reception, so could you please move away?"

Saying that, I handed my backpack to the receptionist.

"We've completed the three E-rank quests we accepted. Please check the magic stones inside. We're selling them all."

After checking all the magic stones in the backpack, the receptionist onee-san looked at me with a surprised expression.

"...I've confirmed the magic stones for the quests. Did you two really defeat all of these by yourselves today?"

"Yes, we did. Does this mean we can rank up to E-rank now?"

"Yes. The condition to go from F rank to E rank is to complete, 3 quests of F rank or higher. Congratulations. You have completed 3 quests today, so you both have been promoted to E rank.”

Both Mia and I handed over our adventure book cards and had them updated to E rank.

When I was about to go to the exit of the Adventurer's Guild, a man who got involved approached me.

"How did you guys manage to clear it? And in just one day? You must have cheated, and you bought the magic stones, didn't you?"

"Calm down, Hands. If they cheated to move up to E-rank, they will only struggle more. We can just watch and enjoy the show."

The man called Hands glared at me in dissatisfaction, but then returned to his group.

We'll find out soon enough if we cheated or not.

Mia-san and I split the reward and the guild.

"What's with those people?"

Mia was angry.

"Well, people who didn’t know me until yesterday can't help but be surprised."

She started laughing.

"This slingshot and pebble I borrowed are amazing. It's so easy to defeat monsters with them. And since they can be used for long-range attacks, I wasn't scared at all."

I had made another reinforced slingshot for Mia, along with a reinforcing stone.

Since anyone could easily muster up high firing power, it was easy to defeat the monsters.

We booked a room at the inn and decided to have dinner in the dining room.

Of course, we had two separate rooms."It's like a dream not to have to worry about meals and lodging when I was so short on money."

"Haha, yeah. It's easier to earn money here than in Japan, in that sense."

I suddenly became curious about the party that had expelled Mia.

"Speaking of which, how many people were in your party when you came to this world?"

“There were five of us, including myself. On the first day, we registered as adventurers and went on a quest together. But I wasn’t good at fighting, so  I became a burden on everyone... and was kicked out of the party."

"What were the other guys' occupations?"

"There were two heroes, a holy knight, and a sage."

"What?"

"It's amazing, isn't it? That they could have those kinds of occupations. I'm an artist, so... I guess it's no wonder I was kicked out."

No way. Is that really how she sees herself?

Don't you know that choosing an occupation that is incompatible with your element of skill will result in the skill not working or being unusable? ....

Now that I think about it, there were some points that I didn't understand at that point too, just from Guildmaster Hannah's explanation anyways. I'd better not spread this .....

"Mia, about what happened with your skill today and my fighting style, as well as our occupations and skills, don't tell anyone else, okay?"

"Why?"

“Because not everyone is a good person like Mia-san. Especially in this world, there are a lot of dangerous people, especially those from different worlds."

"Ah...okay, I understand. I won't tell anyone!"

The first pause bothers me, but that's okay. There's still something I need to do tonight. "Can I talk to you in my room later?"
