Chapter 335- Trouble?

“This is the inn! I think this is where you'll be staying during the tournament.”

The inn that Carina showed me to was a large inn that stood on the main street. Wait! Are those guards? Four strong men, who appeared to be guards, were standing in front of the door.

“Carina-sama and her companions. We have a reservation from Bequa-sama. I will show you to your room.”

We entered the inn, and a staff member immediately guided us to our room. There are five rooms on the fourth floor, so one room was assigned to each of us.

“So... the meeting is in my room."

Once everyone had assigned themselves a room, they each went inside their rooms. But since there is a magic ring, there is no luggage or anything, so they quickly gathered in my room.

“Carina, what are we going to do now?”

“The staff at the inn is supposed to contact Bequa nii-sama when we arrive at the inn, so if we wait, he will come to us.”

Apparently, there was no problem if we waited here.

The five of us decided to relax in my room and wait for Bequa. The room is spacious and well-equipped enough for five people to relax, including a king-size bed and a sofa that can easily seat three people.

Knock knock.

“Yes."

“Zeros-sama, I have brought Bequa-sama and Urza-sama with me. May I let them in?”

“Please do.”

“Yes.”

After relaxing in my room for a little less than two hours, Urza, the twin brother of Carina and Bequa, came in.

“Hey, how are you? Long time no see!”

“Long time no see.”

“Welcome...pfff ...... Bequa! You're dressed like..."

I laughed when I saw Bequa come into the room. When Bequa was with me, he was usually dressed in adventurer-style clothing that was easy to move around in and would perform well no matter when the battle started. But now he was dressed in luxurious white clothes that looked as if he were a prince. It's not that the current outfit doesn't suit him, but it's so different from the image I had of him that I laughed.

“…When you’re in the city, you have to dress like this as a member of the royal family!”

“No, sorry! You look good.”

"Shut up!"

Bequa said and sat down on a nearby sofa with a thud.

“Urza, you look great too.”

“Thank you very much.”

"Hey! You laughed at me, but you were  too quick to give Urza a compliment.”

"Ha-ha-ha."

I laughed and fooled around with him as Bequa complained to me with a light laugh.

“I'm sorry I'm late. Me and Sophie had some business to attend to.”

“I heard about it in Carina's letter, so it's no problem."

When we got to the end of our conversation, it was time to start getting serious.

“So, to cut to the chase, the reason I wanted you to come early is because I'd like you to come to the royal castle with me just once, Zeros.”

“Me?"

“Yeah."

I can tell by my own face that I probably have a tight scowl on my face. I don't want to go because it would be such a hassle.

“Of course, anyone who wants to complain about you, a human being, participating in this tournament doesn't exist because we physically silenced them. Strong people don't care about something as small as a different species, as long as they can use their beastification.”

“What?"

I thought he was going to tell me to show my ability by fighting the faction that opposes my participation in the tournament at the royal castle.

“It’s just...dad... The current king wants to talk to the person who is human and has a contract with the Beast King. I know it's a hassle, but could you come to the castle once?"

“Well, if that's the case, I don't mind.”

It would not be that much trouble if he just wants to talk to me. Above all, I don’t think I can say no.

“Good! Then let's go.”

"Wait a minute. Are you talking about now?”

“Yes I am.”

“Huh..."

Bequa didn't expect to be turned down? And what if we had something to do now?

And, we only let them know we were coming just two hours ago, right? How quickly can you get an appointment with the king?

“Carina, come with me.”

“Okay.”

“The other three of you, I'm sorry, but you'll have to wait here at the inn. Even though you have a badge, you guys might get a bit of attention if you walk around town alone.”

The four of us headed for the royal castle, with Sophie and the other three seeing us off, and Bequa hurrying us along.
