Chapter 223: What is a Hero?

“I heard that a Hero has appeared.....”

“That seems to be the case..."

As I was walking with Sophie to the training ground, I could hear such conversations going on around me. Sophie and I didn't talk about the hero at all, because we knew it’d be better to talk about it with someone who would know more about it than just the two of us.

“Come on… can you explain in detail?”

“Yes. Because I think Zeros is going to be party to this.”

I cut in after confirming that the beasts and Elira had gathered at the training ground. She said something meaningful yesterday, and today this happened. Naturally, I’d like an explanation. “Ten years ago?”

That means they are two years older than me.

“Why didn't they  reveal this until now?”

“You mean you don't have to worry about that anymore?”

“I think at least that's what the bigwigs in the Holy Taglion think.”

Does that mean that they have grown strong enough not to have to worry about them anymore?

“How did you get them to raise their status while taking such good care of them?”

“It's power leveling. We have the hero hit someone with magic from a distance and another man defeats them afterwards. The hero’s status always rises to the maximum.”

Now Sophie asked a question. Is it only me who thinks that what they’re are doing is less heroic than anyone else?

“─ Then let me explain the effects of the title hero. First of all, all stats are doubled. And the amount of experience gained is also doubled. Furthermore, both physical and magical attack damage are halved. And two weapon-based skills, fire magic, water magic, wind magic, and earth magic will get maxed out at the basic attribute magic skill level."

Anything is possible now. But if the skill level is maxed out from the beginning, isn't it boring because there is nothing to grow?

“Is that all there is to the effect of being a hero?"

“And they each have one extra skill.”

When Sophie asked that, Claudia answered. Extra skills...that means the title of hero must have been given by that god.
