Chapter 174: Three to One

Emily's POV

"Three against one is not fair!"

“What the hell is a demon talking about..."

Now it's three against one with Tiya and Judy joining us. If it were possible, I would want the two of them to go to Zeros-sama, but they can't because of a mysterious barrier. Rather than taking the time to break through it, they decided that it would be quicker to solve the problem if the three of us killed this demon.

Fortunately, Zeros-sama seems to have defeated the dragon demon. I also decided that if there were no more enemies attacking Zeros-sama, then we could focus on this. To be honest, it was hard for me to do it alone. No matter what kind of attack I made, she would be regenerated immediately. And her defense is unnecessarily high. Maybe that's why she doesn't even avoid attacks. However, while she’s regenerating, she doesn’t move violently. But when she's not regenerating, she tries to get to Zeros-sama. That's why I had to keep attacking with high firepower almost all the time and I consumed dozens of MP potions. This was not a problem since the attacks of this demon were just simple punches and kicks with outstretched arms and legs. It was also easy to avoid.

But just before the two of them arrived, the demon suddenly began to avoid the attacks. Probably because her magic power was running low, she was unable to regenerate. I've been attacking her now, but I haven't been able to kill her.

“I can't do it anymore! Ryu-chan! Help me!"

The demon suddenly shouted at the wall of the training center. Her back was hanging open. I thought it was a trap, but it doesn't look like it. The three of us unleashed our spirit magic at the same time, determined to finish her off here. However, the wall of the training center was broken down and the attack was blocked by someone who came in.

“Ryu-chan… I was scared.”

“Why do you have so little magic?”

I could hear the two of them talking as the cloud of dust settled. The three of us made eye contact and began to prepare our spirit magic when the dust cloud cleared and we could see her again.

“It's not fair to fight three against one just because we're demons, you know?”

“!"

Despite the fact that the dust cloud had cleared, the three of us were unable to attack. The three of us couldn't attack, because we were stuck in the middle of a standoff with something new that had appeared.

"Ugh..."

Then suddenly, I felt a strong shock on my neck. In my fading consciousness, I could see the two people who had already collapsed and a few figures of those standing behind them.

"Zeros....."

Then I just passed out.

Zeros POV

"What species did you evolve into, Zero onii-chan?"

"...Well? I have no idea..."

"Eh?"

Sophie and I are running towards the quiet training center, talking about what we're going to do. A little while after I evolved, the noise suddenly stopped. Maybe the demon had decided they had no more use for me after I evolved. At any rate, I had to go to the training center to check the situation.

"Sophie!"

"Eh...?"

My sense of danger reacted, so I hurriedly took Sophie in a princess hug and flew backwards. What? I think I've seen something like this before. And this time I didn't have as much time as before, so I tried to carry her on my shoulders, but then I realized I was carrying her like a princess. Just as I was about to fly, wham!  boom! The wall of the hallway was destroyed with two sounds. This time I flew backwards and immediately dropped Sophie, because I was still sensing the danger. Then I enchanted Yug and Zeal again and activated the Raiden Armor. I knew from the crisis detection that I could use the skills without any problems even if I chose to evolve, which was good.

“Well... what do you know? He has Crisis Detection, doesn’t he?”

"Ah!”

“!"

From the cloud of dust that had been created by the destruction of the wall, someone appeared on foot. The moment that something glared at me, my body stopped moving. From my bird's eye view, it seemed that Sophie was also unable to move.

"See! Doesn't he look promising?"

"I don't think so."

“Look!”

The newcomer must be a demon, because Im walked up behind her. And still the crisis detection is reacting more violently than ever before.

"Fugu......"

"What!?”

My body moved for a moment, and I protected the nape of my neck with my sword as my crisis detection reacted violently. If it hadn't been for my fast reflexes, I would have fainted without knowing anything. However, the sword's protection was not enough to stop the momentum, and I was slammed face-first into the ground. I managed to get up and carry the fallen Sophie away from the new demon.

"See! Isn't that great!"

“You haven't done a single evolution yet and you can react to this...' Hmmm... let's take back what I said’ earlier."

I set Sophie down gently and took a few steps forward toward the demons as if to protect her and held up my sword. There was a dull ache all over my body from my reflexive movement earlier, but this was not the time to be talking about that.

“If there's a guy like this, I should have gone out there in the first place..."

“That's right! He has already chosen his evolutionary destination because you told me that I could only use three demons, that the executives were not allowed to go out and that Ryu-chan could only watch from above! This is what happens when you make decisions without even seeing them with your own eyes!”

"I'm sorry about that. Let me apologize."

The two of them were talking in an unguarded manner, but my crisis detection was still responding. If I make a bad move, I'll be killed right then. So I can't move.

"So you want to take him home?"

“He has already evolved, so I don't have to take him home today. And if I bring him back now, our people will just bully him because he’s not a demon, right? Also, we have to find a way to keep his contract with the spirits even if he evolves into a demon.”

"Then do you want me to bring him back personally as mine?"

“No, you can't! he's mine!”

“Just kidding.”

"Picon!"

“You have been awarded the title of "One who has been spotted by the Demon Lord."

“What!?”

I was relieved that they'd let me off the hook, but then I got a bad title! And the sound of the announcement! What's wrong with you! Is the title that bad? No! It's definitely not a good name! And which of these two is the Demon Lord? Is it the new one?

“But if I just pull back like this, it'll look like I lost, so I'll just stun him, okay?”

“Just don't kill him, okay?”

“I'll be careful.”

And the new demon slowly came towards me. Since there seems to be no chance of winning, it would be good to be obediently stunned if I only need to faint. However, there’s absolutely no reason to faint in the reaction of crisis detection. To be careful, I put it on for the time being ....I have to find a way to survive somehow...
