Chapter 387: A Day in the Dye Village

Tauro and his group were to meet with a total of ten people, including some skilled travelers who would be their guards on the day and a group of villagers who were confident in their physical strength.

Among them was Kossa, who had already met them with a stick, but he remained quiet, perhaps because he knew the difference in their abilities.

There were three skilled travelers in total; one was a duo and the other was a single person. The duo had stopped by the village on their way to the city of Caxart a few days ago, and had been hired because of their skills.

The other person had arrived about ten days ago, interested in dyeing, and had also been hired because he was more skilled than the villagers, who were also confident in their strength.

“I’m Tauro, the leader of the team “Black-Golden Wings” from the Adventurer’s Guild Caxart branch, and I’ll be in charge of guarding the bride. Some of you may be worried that I’m a child, but please rest assured that I’m a proper D+ adventurer.”

Tauro introduced himself and had Ragune and the others say a quick greeting.

He then explained the formation for the day and the night watch.

The villagers had seen how easily Tauro had overwhelmed kosa, so they trusted him about his skill, but were somewhat skeptical about his leadership.

However, once Tauro began to explain, it seemed very concrete, easy to understand, and reasonable, and they soon began to agree.

Seeing this, Ragune and Ankh nodded in relief, and Zion, along with the villagers, listened intently to Tauro’s explanation.

“I plan to continue guarding like this for nearly a week. If you have any questions, please ask now.”

Tauro looked around at the villagers and finally checked with the three travelers.

Tauro had been wondering about the presence of the three travelers for some time.

“…We have no problem.”

 Said two of the travelers.

“I also had a detailed explanation, so there’s no problem.”

 And one traveler.

Tauro felt something was off about the reactions of these three people.

The presence of the two seemed to indicate that they were aware of the existence of the “Black-Golden Wings”, and the other one was listening intently to what we were saying, but I was concerned that he didn’t seem to open up to anyone.

Since Tauro’s ability “Presence Detection” has its limitations, he decided to leave them alone for now, because he couldn’t tell anything more than that.

That night, we were invited to the village chief’s house.

Tauro and his friends had planned to stay in an empty house in the village for the two days before their departure, but it seemed the three travelers would share the same house.

“I thought it would be a good idea for the adventurers to meet my daughter.”

The village chief then calls out to the back of the room.

“Hey, Sita. Come here and say hello to the adventurers who will be escorting you.”

“Yes.”

A reply was heard from the back, and a girl appeared.

She is fifteen years old, with clear white skin, brown hair, and brown eyes that are delicate but have a core radiance.

I heard the man fell in love with her at first sight, and she is certainly a beauty.

Alimar, the village chief, must be very proud of her,

“Isn’t she beautiful? It is fortunate that the son of the mayor of the town of Wasan fell in love with her.”

 he said, smiling.

“Dad, stop. I’m not… Huh?”

His daughter Sita was clearly not in the mood, but she was surprised to see Tauro and Zion.

“Excuse me, how old are you two?”

“?—I’m thirteen years old and Zion here is fourteen.”

Tauro answered on behalf of the group.

“You are both younger than I am, and yet you are both accomplished adventurers. That’s wonderful. Is being an adventurer fun?”

Sita seemed to really think so, and the “presence detector” could feel that sentiment.

“It’s a lot of hard work, but I’m having fun. Zion, you only recently joined us, so your just getting started, right?”

Tauro answered Sita honestly and then turned the conversation  to Zion.

“I’m also enjoying the fact that I get to travel with Tauro-sama!”

Zion still had her hood pulled down over her eyes, but she raised her head and answered cheerfully.

“Oh my, Zion is a woman, isn’t she? I could tell by your voice. It’s amazing that you are a 14-year-old girl and an accomplished adventurer.”

Sita seemed pleased that there was a girl of her age.

“I’m not that great, but Tauro-sama is amazing!”

zion, embarrassed by Sita’s praise, began bragging about Tauro, the object of her worship.

“Hey, Zion! It’s so boring talking about me to everyone!”

 Tauro rushes to stop her.

“No, no, it’s not every day you get a chance to hear a D+ adventurer’s story, so I’d love to hear them too!”

The village chief, Alimar, was pleased to see his daughter’s expression brighten up after having been depressed recently, so he encouraged her to talk.

zion then gleefully begins telling them about Tauro’s adventures.

Tauro stopped her, saying that if he let her continue her story, the things that the dragon people had glorified would only be exaggerated further.

zion looked very disappointed, but since she couldn’t talk about anything related to the dragon race, she decided to briefly talk about how Tauro became an adventurer and his adventures so far.

The village chief’s family and his daughter Sita were amazed by Tauro’s tales of adventure, sighing and cheering with excitement.

“My goodness, Tauro-dono has had a hard time ……”

The village chief was impressed when he finished listening to Tauro’s tale of adventure.

“I really envy you for having such an experience. I wish I could have had that kind of adventure too.”

It seems, Sita is a woman with an active personality.

However, her white skin suggests that she has not been out much, so she seems to have been raised with extra care.

“Wahaha! I am sure you will have a wonderful life in the city of Wasan from now on!”

The village chief laughed off his daughter Sita’s lament and encouraged her.

However, Sita’s expression showed that she did not want to get married, and Tauro took pity on her.
