Chapter 351 – Information on the Viscounty

According to a report from the three members of the dragon tribe, the red-haired Malak, the blond Zumei, and the blue-haired Reeva, Tauro and his friends were informed that the headquarters of the assassination guild was located in the domain of Viscount Bomen, a territory adjacent to Count Graunewald’s. Just to be safe, they informed Tauro’s father, Count Graunewald who was still staying at the mayor’s residence.

“…… in Viscount Bomen’s territory?”

“Yes. My acquaintance informed me. I am going to head to Viscount Bowmen’s territory with some of my acquaintances to take down the  Assassin guild headquarters.”

Count Graunewald replied with a sullen look on his face.

“I would have to talk to Viscount Bormen if that …… were the case, so I could write him a letter. …… But ……, Viscount Bormen himself is not a very trustworthy person. So you can’t rule out the possibility that he may be connected to the assassination guild. ……”

“Is that so?”

Tauro asked back at Count Graunewald’s thoughtful information.

“Viscount Bomen is an exiled noble from the northern empire, and I hear that he has a lot of information that is vital to the defense of the north. In fact, he had provided us with a great deal of information at the time of the imperial invasion, but theirs is a family that has avoided friendship with any noble family for generations and has confined itself to its own territory. Moreover, it is said that the Bomen territory is heavily guarded, with checkpoints set up in every part of it. Isn’t it strange that such a land should be the home of a guild of assassins?”

If Count Graunewald’s information is correct,  it seems even more reasonable to assume that there is a connection between them since it means the headquarters is located in such an inconvenient place, where moving around seems to be difficult.

“Just getting into the …… territory seems like a challenge.”

 Tauro pondered.

“It’s not that difficult to enter the territory. Trade and other things are carried out normally. However, since there are many checkpoints and tolls, outsider merchants will turn back after doing business in the border towns. If they try to go to inside the territory to do business, they will have to pay the tolls and will not be able to make a profit.”

“…I see. So even if it’s easy to enter the territory, there are no outsiders who will travel inside the territory since they’ll be charged a toll every time they pass through a checkpoint, and they will stand out if they try to do so.”

“That’s the way it is. It is a very difficult land for travelers. It is not a place where adventurers from other places would willingly go.”

 Tauro pondered for a moment.

“Father, thank you for the information. I will discuss this with my friends and see what we can do about it.”

He thanked him and left the office.

“──What! That is troubling information.”

When Tauro tells Malak and the others about the Viscount Bowmen territory they are heading to, they raise their eyebrows.

“It’s a good way to flush out suspicious strangers. ……If there was a connection between Viscount Bowmen and the Assassins Guild, if a large number of outsiders enter the territory, they will be immediately suspected of being involved in the eradication of the assassination guilds in the royal capital and would likely be captured.”

Tauro frowned, as did Malak and the others.

“Then why don’t we, the Black Golden Wings, go ahead and enter the Bowmen territory first and we can use my and Tauro’s abilities to guide us?”

In front of everyone who was worried, Ragune came up with a solution as if it were a matter of course.

“No, but your ‘dimensional corridor’ can only be used to get to and from the village, right?”

 Malak pointed out the obvious.

“that’s right. Ragune. If you’re planning on unlocking the entrance to the Dragon People’s village, I’m going to object to it, okay?”

Tauro took a stance against Ragune’s proposal.

“No! That’s not what I meant! ──Actually, I recently noticed that I was able to create another entrance/exit. I didn’t pay attention to it because now I only have the opportunity to travel between the city of Caxart and the village of the Dragon People, but if that’s the case then it might be useful.”

 Ragune hurriedly reported something important.

“…Ragune. You should have told us that earlier! It seems silly that we all had to worry about it.”

 Tauro protested sternly to her.

“I think Ragune’s growing skill set has opened up a whole new avenue for us.”

Malak’s expression changed completely from before, and his expression became brighter.

“Then it’s us, the Black Golden Wings, and Reeva-san, who can track down “that person” who has fled to Viscount Bomen’s territory, is that correct?”

Tauro, having found a way out, makes a new proposal.

“In that case, the six of us here should head straight there. We can have the other members, including the former capture team, wait here in town and call them when we need them. In some cases, it may be possible to call them from the village.”

 Malak makes the obvious suggestion.

“Hmm… We already have two beautiful women, Ragune and Reeva, who stand out, so when you mix in the beautiful Malak-san and the beautiful boyish Zumei-san…”

 Tauro answered with difficulty.

“Leader, even if you mix two beautiful women with two beautiful men now, it won’t make a difference anymore! Ha-ha!”

 Ankh laughed off Tauro’s concern.

“What’s with you two, you think I’m beautiful ? ──How about I buy you both a meal today?”

Ragune was so happy that she was included among the beautiful women that she felt embarrassed.

“Hahaha! Leaving Ragune aside, then, the six of us will head for Viscount Bowmen’s territory.”

Tauro laughed and made that decision, and everyone nodded.

 Ragune, however, was left alone,

“Are you leaving me alone!? You’re treating me badly! Damn, kill me!”

But since everyone had predicted that reaction, they just laughed and ignored it.
