Chapter 270: Preparations the Day Before
Tauro returned to Rangas’s Blacksmith Shop to obtain leather armor. Rangas was the younger brother of Angus, the blacksmith in Saisi.
The dungeon expedition’s transportation operation would begin the following day.
Although Tauro was only responsible for transporting the expedition between safe transfer rooms, the work would take him deep into the dungeon—possibly near the floor where he had encountered Pella.
He had no idea what might happen and couldn’t afford to go unprepared.
Rangas had driven him out before he could shop on his previous visit. This time, Tauro intended to state his purpose immediately and purchase only what he needed.

Tauro cut Rangas off and firmly restated his purpose.

Rangas spoke over him in return.

Refusing to be swept along again, Tauro pushed back.
“Master, you don’t need to shop!”
Rangas flatly rejected Tauro’s stated purpose.
“I do need to shop! I’m entering the dungeon tomorrow, so I have to buy armor!”
Tauro refused to yield.
If Rangas overwhelmed him as he had before, Tauro might face the next day without leather armor yet again.
“That won’t be necessary, Master. I made leather armor for you, and I want you to have it.”
“Please stop making me repeat myself! I want to buy leather armor… Wait—what?”
Tauro had tried to match Rangas’s momentum, but those words brought him to a halt.

Rangas hurried into the rear of the shop.
He returned carrying a set of leather armor.

Rangas stared at the objects in fascination.

Rangas stared at the magic circle in shock.
“I’ll give you three of these plates as payment. However, I’m forbidden to disclose the magic circle itself. Each plate activates only when layered over a compatible magic circle drawn on leather. The added circle will disappear if the plate is peeled away, so handle them carefully.”
“You’ll give me three uses of such an incredible technique?”
“Yes. Use one whenever you believe you’ve created a true masterpiece. I think that will more than repay the value of this armor.”
Tauro used [Creation Magic (Weak)] to attach the leather plate to the inside of the armor, then fixed the magic stone to its outer surface.
Rangas watched the procedure in astonishment.
“I knew it—you truly are the master of both brothers!”
As Rangas gazed at him with admiration, a voice echoed inside Tauro’s mind.

Tauro quietly rejoiced. He appeared to have obtained precisely the ability he had been seeking.
