Chapter 363: Completion of the annihilation Operation and its Disposal

The operation to exterminate the assassination guilds in the capital of Viscount Bomen’s domain was resolved in a single night without a hitch.

The strongholds scattered throughout the capital were also destroyed without fail by the dragon tribe.

Although the confidential documents were burned by Viscount Bomen, we succeeded in capturing the person in question.

Although a confession may be difficult to obtain, the capture of the leader of an assassination guild that had been active in the kingdom for many years was a great achievement for the Dragon People.

Furthermore, the capture at Viscount Bomen’s residence did not end with the viscount himself.

It was a band of wizards, supposedly from the empire.

The dragon people who captured them said that they were inexperienced but skilled in the art of summoning.

In fact, it seems that when they entered into battle with the dragon people, they tried to resist by summoning the Goblin King.

But there they were, the Dragon People.

It seems that they were able to clear that up in one fell swoop and capture the casters.

 That caught Tauro’s attention

“Are you summoning the Goblin King? ……I think maybe. ……”

When Tauro muttered that, Ankh and Ragune also caught on.

“wasn’t there a goblin horde and a goblin king that suddenly boiled over in Viscount Danton’s territory near the Royal Capital?”

“Could that have been the work of these guys too?”

They point out, speaking on Tauro’s behalf.

Are they all captured visitors from the empire? When I looked at them, no one seemed to want to meet my gaze.

“it seems like no one wants to make eye contact. In that case,……, Zumei-san, could you please?”

Tauro turned to the blonde Zumei.

“Is it my turn? Since there’s five of you, it won’t matter if one of you breaks, will it? Then, leave the rest to me.”

The blonde  Zumei spoke ominously and took one of the captured casters into a private room.

 Blonde Zumei.

He looks like a boy, but his specialty is not only information gathering, but also interrogation, a scary skill.

According to the red-haired Malak, he is “the most skilled of the three, and the most merciless.”

Then, within minutes, from the room,

“Gah!”

Over and over again, they could hear screams from people who couldn’t bear the pain.

“Please help me!”

And the voice quickly turns into a plea for their lives.

“I-I’ll say it! I beg you, please let me die quickly!”

I could immediately tell what was happening, that they were torturing them in a way that made had them begging for their life and wanting to die.

Then, after a few minutes of silence, a blonde-haired Zumei came out of the room.

“He’s got no guts. The assassination guild guys, well, I couldn’t get them to confess because they chose to kill themselves right away, but they had guts.”

He reports to Tauro as he wipes the blood from his face with a hand towel.

“These guys seem to be soldiers belonging to the summoner unit of the imperial mage corps. As Tauro-dono suspected earlier, they were conducting an experiment so they summoned the Goblin King something in the vicinity of the Royal Capital to see how long it would take to defeat him. Since the Goblin King was defeated earlier than expected, so they were planning to join up with the Assassination Guild, which had recently established ties with the Empire and were sending in personnel, to conduct the experiment again.’’

“So you are saying that the Empire is targeting this country again?”

“It’s been like that for a long time, so it’s not surprising. We, the dragon race, knew about that and were wary of it. But I didn’t expect the Dragon People of the North to have invaded as well.”

The blond Zumei answered Tauro’s question.

“As Zumei said, the fact that the dragon race from the north is coming out means that we, the dragon race village, are willing to intervene, too.”

The red-haired Malak also pointed out to Tauro after Zumei.

“Did they say anything about the epidemic among the Dragon People?”

“It seems like these guys don’t know about it at their rank. If I had caught those dragon people in the north, I would have interrogated them and made them talk, but the great heroes took them out, so it can’t be helped.”

The blonde Zumei pointed out the blunder of the great heroes in a light-hearted manner.

“I’m sorry, Zumei. I was upset by those who bragged about ‘returning to their ancestors’ as a trump card. I made the choice to defeat them in one fell swoop.”

knowing Zumei, the great hero apologized.*

“That seems to be the case. Tauro-dono?”

 The blonde Zumei concluded.

“Shall we then return once more to the city of Caxart, make a series of reports to my father, and leave the handover of Viscount Bomen and these summoners to the royal capital?”

Tauro seemed to think that their act had come to an end.

“Yes, I suppose so. The leader is right. Viscount Bomen is a nobleman, even though he’s a traitor. It’s not right for us lowly folk to do anything more than we already have.”

 Ankh agreed with Tauro.

“That’s fine with us too. The original goal of the Dragon People, to destroy the assassination guilds, has been achieved.”

 The great hero nodded.

“Well then, let us return to the city of Caxart. Ragune, please.”

Tauro then carried all the dragon people who had gathered at the Viscount Bomen’s resident to the city of Caxart one after another, using Ragune’s “dimensional corridor” and his “spatial transfer”.

In the midst of all this, Ragune, while they were taking a break to recover their magical power, made a request to Tauro.

“Once we return to the city of Caxart, may I have a moment of your time?”

“?”

Tauro was slightly surprised by Ragune’s unusual request.

“I was wondering if I could pay a visit to Aeris. Since we’re in Count Graunewald’s territory, the Marquis Van Dyne’s isn’t far away, right?”

It seems that Ragune wanted to see her friend and companion, Aeris.

“Sure, sure! Then, when we get back that way, we can all go hang out.”

“No, I think I’ll go over there by myself. I’ll be back as soon as I check on Aeris.”

Ragune didn’t seem to want to go with everyone, probably because she had something in mind.

“…Okay. Well, will you give my regards to Aeris when you see her?”

“Of course!”

Tauro nods in response to Ragune’s reply, drinks the magic recovery potion, and resumes transporting to the city of Caxart
