Chapter 198: Pen and Notepad

　Naturally, I did not bring the blueprints for the icehouse with me, so I had to submit the same plans to my brother Alex at a later date. Of course, the designer will be kept secret.

　

　Apparently, Daniela-sama had also been told something by His Majesty the King regarding this matter, and when I said that I would submit it, she looked relieved.

　If that was the case, she should have said so. I feel like I’m being watched over by the princess, and it’s very uncomfortable. Besides, We will soon be real sisters-in-law and brother-in-law in a little while, so there is no need for any strange concerns.

“Well then, Axel, Ijidol, take care of Julius for me.”

“If you need anything else, please let me know right away.”

“Okay.”

　The three of us said in unison, and the older brother and Daniela went back. When the door closed, the three of us were all groggy.

　I'm fairly used to it, but it must have taken a lot of stress on the two of them.

“Sorry about that.”

“You don’t have to apologize.”

"That's right. No one could have predicted something like this. I never thought I'd be able to ever come this close to the princess."

“Oh, Ijidol, by any chance, do you like Princess Daniela?”

　Glad to see the tension released, Axel began to tease Ijidol. Ijidol’s face turned red, but he did not deny it.

　I know how you feel. She’s beautiful and has big breasts. She also smelled good, which must have been irresistible to Ijidol, who had a good nose. He’s like a dog.

“I don’t know about all that, but I wonder if it’s okay for us to stay in a place like this?”

“It's already been decided. We’ll just consider it a valuable experience."

　I helped them up from the sofa and took a look around the room. There were four bedrooms, and it seemed we could use any room we liked. Each room was furnished with a magnificent bed with a canopy.

　The two of them stared at it for a while, their mouths hanging open.

“Julius, what are you writing?”

　We finally sat down at the table and after a short break, I set about writing a letter. Axel asked me, a little bothered.

“I’m writing a letter to your parents. I’ve had to ask you both to stay at the castle for my own reasons.”

“I wish I didn’t. Just leave a short message and It’ll  be fine.”

“Yeah. I’m sure they won’t mind.”

"As a nobleman, I don’t think so. Wouldn't it be better if you both wrote a letter?"

　Axel looked very uncomfortable.  Ijidol, on the other hand, seemed to have been planning to write from the beginning, so I had a servant prepare a letter set for him.

　When I finished writing the letter, I gave it to the servant along with the two others. I don’t know where Axel and Ijidol’s house is located, but I am sure that the talented servants of the Margrave Heine family will deliver it to them.

“We still have some time before dinner, what do you want to do?”

“should we go and look around the castle gardens?　No, I don’t want to run into anyone I know, so let’s not do that. Well, what should we do?”

"Would you like to take a look around the castle garden? No, I'll be in trouble if I run into someone I know

"Hey, you said you were going to build an ice house. Is it really that easy to make?"

　Apparently, Ijidol is interested in icehouses. Maybe  he is also interested in magical tools. What should I do? I have some free time, so maybe I’ll teach him a thing or two.

“I don’t know if I’d say it’s easy, but it’s possible if you use a magic circle to lower the temperature.”

“Really? Then it wouldn't be strange if that icehouse already exists?"

　Axel joined the conversation, as if he too was interested. The servant picked up a pen and notepad. What should I do? If I make a bad comment, I will cause brother Alex heartache again.

“Come to think of it, you're right. Why wouldn’t there be any?”

　I was keenly aware of the servant's movements, so I decided to end the conversation immediately. It's a strategy make it go away.

“Hmm, isn’t there a limit to how much you can lower the temperature?　You know, like, you can’t lower the temperature enough to freeze water.”

　Oh, you're so sharp, Ijidol. There is a magic circle that lowers the temperature. It is commonly used in magic tools like the cold/hot air blower. However, I have never seen a magic circle that lowers the temperature to the point where it forms ice. This could be bad.

“I see. So your blueprints for the ice room are equipped with a magic circle that can lower the temperature enough to freeze water. Huh, but that doesn’t make sense. Why don’t other people use that magic circle?”

“I wonder why?　Didn’t they notice?”

“Julius?”

“Are you hiding something?”

　Their gazes hurt. Somehow I must pretend that I have found a magic circle that can bring the temperature down to below freezing. But I cannot admit that here. What should I do …… That’s right!

“Axel, Ijidol, just between you and me, there’s actually a book on magical tools in the library archives of the Margrave Heine family that I don’t even know when it was written. I drew the blueprints for the icehouse by applying what was written in that book.”

“That’s amazing. As expected from a family with a long history.”

　While Ijidol is honestly impressed, Axel looks at me with suspicion. I guess he still doubts me. On the other hand, the servant was running his pen at great speed. ……I’ve got to do something about that notepad. My lie will be exposed.

　After that, in order to avoid Axel’s suspicion, I told them about the many magical tools I have made so far. Thanks to my efforts, both of them seemed to be very interested in what I had to say.

　I am not sure if I was able to completely fool them, but they seemed to understand that I make an icehouse.

　The royal potion masters are probably waiting too, so I have to make the icehouse as soon as possible. Once we have the icehouse, we should be able to preserve valuable materials for long periods of time while maintaining their quality. There is no doubt that it will be easier to use.
