Chapter 141: A Short farewell

　It seems that it is a done deal that my parents will remain in the Margrave Heine territory this year. If they say that they are supposed to be in mourning, it will be impossible to overturn that.

　You've just missed the horse racing season, and now you're going to miss the social season as well.

“Julius, there's no need to be so disappointed. I've already have an agreement in place. You are free to use the compounding room in the royal castle."

　Father raised one eyebrow and grinned. Maybe He’s thinking, "I’ve done it for you."

　Yay. But I'm not very happy. Personally, I don't want to get too close to the royal family, but they are getting closer to me. If our relationship becomes too close, there is a risk that they might make me a member of the royal court magic potion masters in the future.

　If that happens, will I be free to make magic potions?　And can I freely spread that magic potion around the world?　There are too many uncertainties.

　On the other hand, if I become an official potion master for the Margrave Heine territory, I will have more freedom in that area. After all, I am the son of the lord. He is the most powerful man in the territory. Power is power. In the royal castle, there are many powerful people above me. Some people may not like me rising to the top. No doubt. But, however.

“I understand.”

　If he’s gone that far, I have no choice but to go. If I say no here, I may be spitting in father’s face, who arranged the use of the compounding room.  It would not do to incur his displeasure.

　The problem is Mira. As expected,  I won't be able to take her with me to the royal capital. If I took her to the royal capital, there would definitely be a big commotion. The reason why there isn't that much of a fuss right now is because Mira is on the frontier. Will she be convinced?　That’s the only thing I’m worried about.

　Preparations for the trip to the royal capital are steadily underway. Brother Cain is very busy preparing for the new semester at the academy. And since he lives in a dormitory, he does not come back to the townhouse in the royal capital. It is the same for Alex. In other words, I am all alone in the townhouse. It’s so lonely. Should I take Mira with me after all? 

“Kyu?”

"Looks like I'll be saying goodbye to Mira for a while."

“Kyu!? Kyu~"

　Mira clung to me as if not to let me escape. Oh, okay, okay. I feel so guilty. Since I had no choice, I made her a doll to take my place. If I keep it in my room, it might come in handy when Mira is lonely.

“Brother, this doll is very well made, isn’t it?”

“I won’t make it again, okay?　Rosalia, take care of Mira.”

“Yes, of course.”

　Rosalia turned her eyes away from me. She looked away and saw the doll that looked just like me. I hope she doesn’t do anything bad to the doll, which looked  like me.

　The preparations for leaving for the royal capital were finished, and the day of departure had finally arrived. As expected, I cannot take Giles and Christopher with me, so I will be alone in the royal capita. No, Chloe and Caro might be there. That seems like it would be a lot of trouble.

　I wish I had a fiancée like brother Alex, so I could meet them with open arms. Because of my delicate position, I have to meet them nervously. It would be very bad if any strange rumors were to come out about the two of them.

　Oh, my stomach is starting to hurt. I’m glad I made a special stomach medicine  just in case something like this happens.

　I told Mira firmly and entrusted her to Rosalia. Rosalia received her and held Mira firmly in her arms. Mira’s eyes look as if she is about to cry. I want to cry too. How did this happen?

“ Julius, you have nothing to worry about once you get over there. Alex will make sure everything is taken care of. Cain, make sure you take good care of Julius."

“I know, Father.”

　Brother Cain answered with a smile. He was in a very good mood, perhaps looking forward to returning to the school. I wonder if he is enjoying his school life that much. It doesn’t look like much fun with all those rules.

　The carriage carrying us departed. Lionel is not on this trip. To be honest, I’m worried.

　A few days after we left the Margrave Heine territory, we decided to have a rest day in a certain town.

　Even riding in a state-of-the-art carriage can put a lot of strain on a child’s body. Unless you’re in a great hurry, it’s normal to take a day off during your trip.

"Julius, there's a hot spring in this town. If I remember correctly, you've never been there before, right?"

"A hot spring? I haven't been there yet. That's why so many people are taking a break in this town."

“Oh, yes. It’s normal for people to take a dip in the hot springs in this town to relieve their fatigue before moving on.”

　I didn’t expect there to be hot springs. My trip to the royal capital was always sudden that I’ve never taken a rest day along the way. I’ll make sure to enjoy a well-deserved day off in the future.

　The carriage we rode on headed towards a brick inn that looked like an aristocrat's villa. I never thought I would be staying at such a luxurious accommodation. You never know what life has in store for you.

“The inn where we are going to stay is the most prestigious inn in town. It’s the one we always use when we have a rest day in this town.”

“I see. I thought it was a very magnificent building. Is there a hot spring in the inn?”

"No, the hot spring is somewhere else. But it's right nearby, so you can use it anytime. There's a small room you can rent out."

　Apparently, the hot springs in this town are bigger than I thought. It might be nice to take a relaxing dip in the hot springs once in a while. I might as well treat my body after ten years of use. No, has it already been ten years?　I must be aging quickly.
