Chapter 34: Stupid People

Day 51 of living in another world

After breakfast with everyone in the village, the two rabbits left for the other village. If all goes well, they will return two days later with ten people from the village.

Everyone present agreed, so the meeting was now adjourned. --And just as each of us got up from our seats to go to our assigned tasks, Rad's ears perked up and he stood up.

Rad's ears perked up and his expression suddenly turned grim.

It seems they have discovered our presence here. It was only a matter of time, since they were so close. Still, it was a bit of a surprise that they attacked just as the reconnaissance was being finalized. ...... It was not a good look for us.

I'm so glad they were stupid. They were fooled and were attacking the barrier with weapons in their hands as fast as they could. Some of them were shooting fireballs, but the barrier didn't seem to budge.

After saying this to everyone, we all head toward the hole. It's dug deeper than the last time. There's no way they're going to be able to climb it.

Almost all of them begged for their lives, but the rabbits paid no attention to any of them, and they filled them in without hesitation. Eventually, everything was buried, and no one could be heard.

The people who took the village are gone. We can rest easy now that we have cleaned up the rest.

The Rabbit Tribe seemed satisfied, though they did not say it out loud, with the fact that they were able to retaliate with their own hands.

“But don't tell me you're going back to the village. Stay in this village forever.”

“Village chief, of course, and I look forward to working with you in the future.”

There was nothing evasive about this latest incident. I myself was surprisingly indifferent. In fact, I was rather grateful to them for saving me the trouble of reconnaissance.

After that, everyone in the village went back to their own work as if nothing had happened. It was as if all the commotion that had happened earlier was a lie, and they were going about their daily lives as usual.

Dinner that day was more luxurious than usual. Everyone was celebrating the first step toward trade and the revenge of the Rabbit Tribe, and rejoicing over the safety of the village.
