Chapter 12: The Village Bonus

“It was delicious.”

“It was very delicious."

It was a sumptuous dinner that felt like it had been a long time, even though it was only my second day in this world. I made onigiri (rice balls) out of the leftover rice and am looking forward to tomorrow's meal.

Now that the meal is over, I am cleaning up quickly. Just as they were about to finish, I called out to them. I wanted to tell them something as soon as possible.

“I have something important to tell you before it gets too dark.”

They nodded a little nervously and headed for the living room together.

“I'm going to start by saying that Tsubaki and Sakura are good collaborators. I think your  personalities and abilities are impeccable, and I know I can count on you. With that in mind, I want you to listen to what I'm about to tell you."

With that, i shared my thoughts with Tsubaki and Sakura.

.I want you to know that I value my life the most. If I am in danger, I will put my own survival first.

. Lastly, that i would never disrespect, but would take good care of, any villagers whom i trusted.

While I was speaking, both of them were listening silently without uttering a word.

“I understand what you meant, Keisuke-san. I am fine with that policy."

Somehow, I had expected Sakura to say that, but I was relieved to hear it clearly. And then Tsubaki said...

“I'm ....... If I run into my family or friends, I probably won't have the confidence to remain calm. But if we can't accept them, I'll give up."

“Well, thank you both. I won't hide it, but I honestly didn't think Tsubaki would be that prepared.”
