Chapter 126: Sophie’s Point of View

“Congratulations, you’ve been promoted to rank B!”

“Thank you very much.”

“You have one month to choose a name for your party.”

“Understood.”

The guild’s receptionist told us we’d been promoted. Thanks to the recent appearance of monsters that were not supposed to be around here, the quests had become saturated. That’s why it took me less than four months from the time we were asked to do the escort quest to get to the next rank.

“Shall we take tomorrow off then?”

“Yes.”

“Nn…”

Nii-sama suddenly said that we would take the day of tomorrow, but this is something we had already decided from the beginning. When we got to B-rank, he would like to talk the next day without receiving quests so we can think of a party name.

“Sophie, do you have any ideas?”

“No, not yet…”

When we were returning home, Nii-sama asked me what I thought of for the name of the party, but I hadn’t come up with a good one.

“I haven’t come up with one yet either.”

We can change the name of the party later, but we can only do that after we’ve reached A rank. So, for a while, we have to use the party name we choose. So we can’t give it a strange name.

“Do you want to be like Wallace’s group?”

“That’s a little embarrassing indeed…”

“I know…”

When we had a chance to meet Wallace and his friends, Nii-sama asked for the name of their party. Wallace’s party name seems to be “Hero’s Light”. The reason for the name is that even if you can’t be a hero, you want to be a light that can shine on heroes. I didn’t know what it meant when I heard it, but the answer was that they would be strong enough to support the heroes.

“But the party name should be something like us, right”

“I guess so.”

We talked about this as we walked home. And in the middle of the night, they were still doing their midnight training. Shana also seems to be practicing handling the scythe at home. During these midnight training sessions, I mostly meditate. Most of the time I’m thinking about the prophecy of that goddess. Nii-Sama is getting stronger. I’m sure that no matter what kind of opponent he faces, he won’t be defeated overwhelmingly. And most importantly, how can I not be there for him? I’ll always be there for him. Now that he and I are stronger than expected, can the prophecy be averted?

“Sophie, let’s go to bed.”

“Okay.”

Nii-Sama spoke to me breathlessly. Today’s meditation time ended with no conclusion about the prophecy.

“Sophie, good night.”

“Good night, Zero Nii-sama.”

After cleaning his body with magic, we parted to our respective rooms.

“Huh…”

I let out a sigh as I entered my room. I don’t like this situation where I have so many anxiety factors. But there’s nothing I can do about it. Tomorrow, I’ll ask the two of them to give me a little time to go to church. I’ll ask that goddess if the prophecy still holds and if so, when and where it will happen. I don’t expect her to be honest with me. I have to get it out of her somehow. I fell asleep with a list of things to do tomorrow on my mind.

But such a peaceful tomorrow never came.
