Chapter 44: Full Moon Bazaar ④

The crepe that Cerberos-tan had been eating while walking around was mostly savory—tuna, meat, and vegetables. No sweet ones. Disappointing.

“Wow—Mineha!”
“Long time no see, Plancy.”

They high-fived and giggled. So they already knew each other.

“Munch, munch… I’ve teamed up with Mineha a few times. Munch, munch.”
“That was really helpful,”

said Kolan and Nabel.

Kolan… we’ll talk after finishing eating.

“Is that so?”
“By the way, Wof-san, found anything good?”
“Not really…”
“We haven’t found anything at all… it’s tough.”
“[Appraisal] is a must, huh? There’s so much stuff, it’s hard to tell what’s good.”
“Exactly.”

Ah, I see.

“Nabel’s relics aren’t really helpful in situations like this either.”
“Kolan-san!”
“Sorry, sorry.”
“…Kolan-san, you’re looking for a spear, right?”
“Ah, yeah. Something that can hold a relic corresponding to my [Wind] relic.”
“And Nabel-san wants a sword, right?”
“If there’s one that can rival this Ulfen sword… that would be great.”

Hmm, got it.

“And Plancy-san?”
“A robe, preferably one related to [Fire] and [Water], if possible.”

They’ve all been helping, cooperating, and giving advice. They’re not bad people, and I’ve had their support before. Alright.

“If you don’t mind, can I help?”
“Search for something?”
“Sure, I don’t mind.”
“That would help.”
“Is that okay, Mineha-san?”
“Hmm… well, sure, I guess.”

First, let’s see… I have something I want to try.

“Kolan-san, can you tell me about the spear you’re currently using?”
“This one? It’s an OOPArt, nothing special. It slightly boosts the power of my [Wind] relic. It’s called Swift Wind Maru.”

Looking at it, it glows green.

“So you want a spear that can hold a relic related to [Wind].”
“Yeah… if only one exists conveniently.”
“There’s so much here, it might.”
“But I can’t just grab every spear at random.”
“True. There are thousands of them.”
“Ha, that’s true…”

I used the relic [Circle of Fortune].

I had thought during Mineha-san’s spear search: what if I could refine it like a detailed search online? Filtering by grade or type might allow me to narrow it down further.

If I can’t do it, fine—but if I can, it’s a bonus.

‘Spear’ – ‘Wind-related relic’ – ‘Yellow or blue glow’

How’s that… ah, found it! Three yellow glows, one blue glow.

“Let’s go.”
“Huh?”
“This way.”
“Wait, Wof-san—”
“Looks like we found it. Let’s move.”
“What do you mean?”

I headed to the nearby yellow glow.

In a lower-floor tent lined with weapons, one of the spears stored in a tube glowed yellow.

“How about this?”

I handed the spear to Kolan. He took it casually, surprised.

“A relic’s inside…?”
“Really?”
“Ah, yes—[Slash Blow]… amazing.”
“You want this one? There are others.”
“I’ll take this one.”

There were more, but this one was fine. The basket read “Special Offer 600 Ouro”—cheap.

The shopkeeper said it was discounted for some reason. Makes sense. Kolan’s face was fully satisfied.

The spear was named ‘Blow Fang’, with a green shaft and a tip shaped like a fang.

“Hey, Wof-san…”
“I know, Plancy-san. If you give me details, I can find something that fits.”
“I want a robe, related to [Fire] and [Water] relics.”
“Got it.”

Search: ‘Robe’ – ‘Related to Fire and Water relics’ – ‘Yellow or blue glow’

Result: Zero yellow, two blue. One nearby, probably middle floor; the other… on the outer edge… there it is.

That shady pile-of-junk store that looked kinda like a fake Chinese vendor. But for 1000 Oro, it’s a good deal.

Mineha-san made a displeased face as I guided her.

The three of us retrieved the robe from the junk pile, inside a solid box.

“[Flame Lance] and [Water Clone]!!!”

Plancy-san excitedly wore the robe. It was red on the front, blue on the back, like a hooded hoodie, with small crystals in the center front and back.

Its name: ‘Fire and Water Entangled Hoodie’. Yep, a hoodie.

“Wow, all that for 1000 Oro?”
“Hehe, thanks, Wof-san!”
“Is this a relic?”
“Yeah, it is. Next, Nabel-san’s turn.”

Finally, a sword.

The sword Nabel-san had… oh wow, a blue glow.

“Nabel-san, what kind of OOPArt is that sword?”
“It’s the ‘Ulfen Sword,’ handed down in our family. It grants a dedicated relic.”
“Can I ask what the relic does? If not, that’s fine.”
“—[Ulfen Rush]. You can perform four sword rush attacks consecutively.”
“Ah, that incredible technique I saw before!”

I had seen it in a fight against rumor-eating monsters. So that was a relic.

“Got it… thanks.”
“And the sword is made of magicsteel, mixed with magical silver and copper.”
“Good info.”

Search: ‘Sword’ – ‘Made of magicsteel/magic silver/copper alloy’ – ‘Comparable to Ulfen Sword’ – ‘Blue glow’

How’s that… huh? Wait… there’s an image in my head… a sword! Looks like Nabel-san’s sword. Search successful… amazing.

And I know this location… oh no, it can’t be…

“A witch’s shop!!”
“Wha!? Scared me!”
“Uh… a witch’s shop?”
“What’s wrong?”
“Found it, let’s go!”
“Wait, Wof!?”
“Yes, it’s here.”

I ran, even though I was tired. From the back entrance of the middle-floor Ponpoko Tei to the teleport chamber. Voices behind me, but I ignored them.

We arrived at the upper VIP moving palace.

Through the courtyard and hallway to the second floor. Knocked on the witch’s shop door.

“Come in—desu.”
“Ah, it’s me.”

The door swung open. No customers inside.

“Welcome back, assistant manager.”
“Assistant manager!?”

Nabel and the others were surprised. Anyway… there it was—the sword.

In the corner, against the wall. Its status as merchandise unclear.

“Nabel-san, that’s the sword!”
“Eh? That sword… ah! Could it be!?”

Nabel approached it, surprised.

It was long, very similar in design to his own Ulfen Sword—but single-edged, not double-edged. The blade slightly jagged, integrated with the hilt.

“Looks a lot like your sword.”
“It’s the Wulfeg Blade. Comparable to the Ulfen Sword… a long-lost family treasure… once held by the head of Wulfeg decades ago.”
“I see.”

The head had died in the Haizen Great Forest.

Nabel looked at me seriously, anticipating what I’d say next.

“Wof-san, may I have this?”
“Of course.”
“I’ll pay even if I have to go into debt!”
“I’ll help too.”
“Me too!”
“Uh… um…”

What to do… I can’t just say it’s free because I got it from a junk pile.

“Then how about 100,000 Ouro?”
“Mineha-san!?”
“100,000… I can pay that.”
“Good. Nabel, I’ll contribute too.”
“Me too!”

Kerberos-tan happily pooled their money.

“Is it okay to decide without telling the witch?”
“Sure, it’s fine.”
“Right, we can’t say where it came from anyway.”
“True.”

The sword was sold to Nabel for 100,000 Oro. Apparently, he became much stronger. Great.

“Thank you, Wof-san.”
“Thank you, Wof-san.”
“Thank you, Wof-san.”

All three said in unison. I blushed slightly.

They left the shop completely satisfied.

“Where’s the witch?”
“Boss hasn’t come back yet—desu.”
“Doing what, I wonder.”

Mineha-san sat in a large empty chair. I, too, sat down, exhausted.

Anna Kreutzen brought us tea. We relaxed and sipped it.

“Customers, how’s it going?”
“Not at all—desu.”
“Probably because you don’t feel like buying anything. The boss isn’t here.”
“…Right.”

While we were talking, the door opened.

“Ah, ah, my apologies, my apologies!”

The witch had returned.

“Welcome back—desu, boss.”
“Where have you been?”
“Um… what’s that?”

The witch held a cord, attached to a black coffin. Did she drag that all the way here?

“Well, well, a coffin, huh.”
“Obviously. Is that merchandise too?”
“Well, yes.”

As I wondered what kind of item it was, the door opened again.

“Welcome—desu.”
“…!”
“Oh my, welcome.”
“Welcome.”
“Welcome—desu.”
“…Nice to meet you.”

A woman entered, wearing a deep hood, with purple eyes.

Edda. The witch smiled.

“Please, take your time browsing. We have many rare items.”
“Yes, there are a lot of unusual things here.”

The woman smiled.
