Chapter 95: The Final 4

The match between Thread and Lime started with mutual respect, as both fighters nodded politely to each other before beginning. From the start, Lime set the pace for the entire fight.

Lime’s style of fighting, using his body like a spring, was remarkable, especially after evolving into a Bronze Slime, which made him even harder to hit cleanly. Despite Thread’s valiant efforts, Lime didn’t take a single clean hit and won decisively.

If it were night, the outcome might have been different, but Lime is stronger at night too. Watching Lime having fun with his slime friends as they cheered him on was heartwarming.

“Looks like Lime has advanced.”

Said Sheila.

“You were right, Sheila. Do you think he can win?”

“I’m not sure. But if I can figure out how to land a clean hit, I think I can win.”

It was going to be very interesting to see how Sheila would handle Lime. At this point, the Final 4 was set.

Ren, Mash, Sheila, and Lime—three of them were from the same farm as I was. I never imagined that three people from here would make it to the Final 4.

Having fought alongside these three in dungeon exploration, it made sense why the fights were so easy for us. As for who should win, I’d be happy for any of them, but Ren was definitely the strongest opponent.

Ren had dominated the competition so far, and he seemed to have plenty of stamina left. On the other hand, Sheila had just fought a tough match against Mika and was likely exhausted.

The next match was a tough one for Sheila, facing off against Lime, who was also a formidable opponent. I hoped Ren and Mash’s match would last longer to give Sheila more time to recover.

Unfortunately, my wish didn’t come true, and the match ended quickly, with Ren as the winner.

Mash’s spores and his ability to use magic had been revealed, but it was clear Ren was getting stronger with each round. Even though Mash was no slouch, he had nothing against Ren and lost decisively.

“Ren is amazing. He looks completely different from the usual him.”

“I can see why Sheila would think so. Normally, he still has a youthful vibe, but in battle, he really looks like a hero.”

“I really want to see a match between Sheila and Ren. I can’t say it loudly with Lime here, but I’ll be rooting for you, Sheila.”

“Fufu… Thank you, your support means the world to me.”

Sheila made a fist, flexing it, before heading to the arena where Lime was waiting. Given how intense the previous matches were, the makeshift arena was already looking worn out.

It would be amazing to build a permanent coliseum and hold tournaments regularly, but that’s a lower priority for now. If I can’t return home in ten years, then maybe a coliseum will become a reality. But for now, I’ll focus on the upcoming match between Sheila and Lime.

“Let the match begin!”

With the signal to start, Lime turned invisible, as usual. I couldn’t see him, and it made it hard for me to follow the fight. But it was a critical move for Lime, and I couldn’t ask him to stop.

Using his spring-like movement, Lime began attacking in his usual unpredictable way. Even if you knew about his moves, it was incredibly difficult to avoid them.

But Sheila was handling it effortlessly. She seemed to be reading his movements, dodging every attack with ease.

I had no idea how she was doing it. Was she hearing the sounds and reacting? Or was she sensing his presence?

Sheila’s movements were so fluid and controlled, it was like watching a master at work. But the real challenge for her was how to land a clean hit.

Sheila was skilled, but her strength was nowhere near Donnie’s, who had used the side of his sword to strike Lime’s weak spots. It seemed like Sheila was trying to figure out how to deal with Lime without relying on raw power.

Suddenly, Sheila took up a stance that looked like fencing—sharp, precise, and elegant. It was clear she had been practicing this for a while, and it looked fantastic.

As Lime charged at her, Sheila moved with perfect timing, delivering a thrust with pinpoint accuracy.

The thrust didn’t seem particularly strong on its own, but because Lime was moving at such high speed, it increased in power. The strike seemed to hit right at Lime’s core, and his invisibility faded away. The once bouncy, gelatinous Lime collapsed into a limp, water-like form.

Donnie immediately called the match.

“Lime is considered unable to continue. Therefore, the winner is Sheila!”

The crowd erupted in applause, impressed by how Sheila had stopped Lime’s seemingly invincible attack and defeated him with a single blow. Lime had come close, but Sheila had been one step ahead.

“Sheila, Lime, good job. Is Lime okay?”

I asked, concerned for Lime’s condition after the perfect thrust.

Lime, still in his limp form, seemed a little off balance, his usual energy nowhere to be found.

“I’m sorry. I hit him harder than I intended. His core might have taken some damage.”

Sheila said.

Both Sheila and I were worried, but Lime nodded, reassuring us that he was fine. I decided to take Lime to Yui for treatment. While I wasn’t sure if monsters could receive healing magic, if it didn’t work, I planned to give Lime a lot of magic energy core—kind of like an energy drink for monsters.

I hoped he’d feel better after resting up. Meanwhile, Sheila was getting ready for the final, needing to rest before her next battle.

“Please let Yui handle Lime. Sheila, get ready for the final. You should try to rest as much as possible.”

“Yeah, I’ll sit down for a bit.”

Sheila sat down in a relaxed position and immediately fell asleep. I was a little envious—ever since coming to this world, my ability to fall asleep hasn’t improved much.

Watching her sleep, I thought, “Sleeping is a talent,” and made my way to take Lime to Yui.
