Just another Isekai Lover~

Chapter 436: The Night After the Unveiling

The unveiling party went off without a hitch, although there were some surprises.

Most of the opposition was captured before it happened, and the assassination guild that had been pulling the strings behind the scenes was wiped out except for the second-in-command who was leading the remnants of the guild, so it would soon be over.

Tauro unbuttoned the collar of his luxurious costume, took a deep breath, and stepped out into the garden.

Most of the invited guests had already returned to their prepared rooms or to nearby inns, so there were hardly any people in the gardens.

Some of them were meeting in the shade of the trees, but Tauro pretended not to notice.

“There you are.”

A woman calls out to Tauro from behind.

“Aeris. I thought you returned to your room by now.”

The servants were cleaning up the venue, and there were quite a few people there, so they were late to notice Aeris.

“I told you we needed to talk, remember?”

 Aeris replied with a laugh.

Her long blonde hair is tied up in a bun and held in place by a jeweled hair ornament that matches her red eyes.

Her dress is expensive, white with gold embroidery.

She is, after all, the daughter of a marquis.

It suited her very well, and under the moonlight I was able to confirm once again that she looked even more beautiful than the last time I saw her.

“Yes, you did. Ragune told me that your leg is fine now?”

Tauro was concerned about Aeris’ leg, which he’d been told had healed completely.

At the party venue, there was nothing unusual about the way she was walking around so I thought she’d be okay, but I wanted to hear her say it herself.

“Thanks to the treatment by the True Saint that Ragune brought me, I’m fine as I can be.”

Aeris took some light dancing steps to prove to Tauro that she was fine.

“I’m glad to hear that. Right. What did you want to talk about ?”

Tauro couldn’t imagine what she had to say.

Ragune had told him that Aeris seemed troubled, but he hadn’t heard any of the details.

“First of all, congratulations on your successful debute, Tauro. But what happens now that you’ve given up the title of heir apparent to the boy named Haku?”

Aeris, who said she had something to talk aboan, changed the subject by talking about Tauro.

“Hmm, I guess you could say it’s just the way things are, or maybe it’s the way they’re supposed to go… But thanks to this, I’ll be able to move freely without being tied down by my title. It looks like I’ll be able to continue my adventures, too.”

Tauro replied, smiling with a refreshed expression.

“Ragune and the others said the same thing about that. Hehehe. I’ve heard the stories, but you’re still you. Of course, I can see that you’ve grown.”

Aeris made a gesture of measuring Tauro’s height with her hand, as if to confirm that he had grown again.

“Is that so? ─ Yes. You’re back to your old life, and now with a twin brother and sister, you seem to be doing quite well. You seem to have grown up and matured a lot.”

In his own way, Tauro praised Aeris for her remarkable growth.

“ I’m not sure. …… Yes, It might be true. My new mother, Mei, said something like that to me recently. But you know what? I often wonder was it like this when I came back to my old life. Was it always so boring? Wasn’t life more exciting? I wonder.”

“Maybe that’s what it means to go back to your normal life?”

I don’t know if that’s true. ─ Of course, I’m happy and enjoy the time I spend with my family. Just watching my younger siblings grow up is very moving. But I still think back to our adventures, with you and the others. Those were very exciting days. Even though we were always close to danger, when I dream about the days we spent together, I want to cry when I wake up.”

“……”

Tauro doesn’t respond to that thought.

Aeris also has responsibilities and duties as the daughter of a high-ranking nobleman, and there are probably days when she misses her days of freedom.

But those days are now memories of the past.

Now she must live in the world of the nobility with those memories in her heart.

“It would have been better if Tauro had at least come to our world. I can’t believe you gave up your position as the eldest son and managed to slip away.”

Aeris stared at Tauro in awe.

“Ahahaha… It was just a coincidence. Besides, by doing this we were able to avoid a dispute that would have divided the territory in two.”

“Count and Countess Graunewald must be disappointed.”

“Well, yes. But they understood.”

Tauro chuckled as he recalled the day he had persuaded them.

“So ……. What should I to do?”

“Aeris?”

“I injured my leg, gave up on being an adventurer, and went back to aristocratic society, but then the True Saint healed me. I learned a lot from the True Saint, and in order to try it out, I became an adventurer in the territory again, so I started remembering a lot of things.”

“……”

Tauro was at a loss for words when he realized what Aeris was trying to say.

“Tauro won’t come over to this side, and I’m jealous of everyone…”

“Aeris ……”

“I, you see, was offered to marry Prince Fleue.”

Suddenly Aeris made a startling statement.

“Really!”

“But the prince refused. He said it would be bad for both you and me.”

“For us?”

“You regularly write to the Prince to tell him about your adventures, don’t you?”

“Yeah.”

“he said he looked forward to those letters, but he doesn’t want to ruin the story by getting himself, a member of the royal family, involved in it. So he said he couldn’t make me, one of the characters in your story, his wife.”

“The prince said that ……”

“Your Highness the Prince thinks it’s a shame that I have left the story.”

“Well you had your own circumstances and ……”

“But that situation was resolved when my little siblings were born. My leg has healed completely and I’m full of energy now.”

“That’s ……”

“Hey, Tauro. Will you take me on another adventure?”

“…… Aeris. What about Marquise Van Dyne?”

“My dad told me to do as I please, so it’s fine.”

 Marquis Van Dyne?!

 Tauro was inwardly surprised.

He had not expected that the Marquis, who was so fond of his daughter, would agree to send her into a dangerous world again.

Tauro thought about it for a bit, but he realized that he couldn’t refuse.

Then, he said what he thought was the right thing to say.

“…Welcome back, Aeris. The Black-Golden Wings will be delighted to welcome you.”

“Thanks ……, Tauro!”

Aeris was so happy she hugged Tauro.

Tauro was surprised for a moment, but then he sensed Aeris’s genuine joy and emotion and hugged her back.

“I’m glad you’re here. ……”

“You’re making me cry ……”

‘I’m glad you’re so happy, Tauro-sama……!’

Ragune, Ankh, and Zion had been watching this whole thing from afar, and they congratulated them.

Thus, on this day, “the Black Golden Wings” grew from a group of four to a group of five.
