Chapter 364: A look at my friends

When Tauro’s group returned to the city of Caxart, they first handed over Viscount Bomen and the imperial soldiers to the subordinates of his father, Count Graunewald.

His father, Count Graunewald, had returned to the capital in a hurry.

Since the subordinates had been fully briefed by Count Graunewald on Tauro’s situation, they followed Tauro’s instructions and took him to the Royal Capital.

And just to be safe, several members of the dragon tribe were to follow them.

“I’m sorry you had to go to all this trouble.  Just having them annihilated would have been a relief, but I can’t believe you’re even going along with me to take them away.”

Tauro, on behalf of Count Graunewald, thanked the great hero.

“No, we are also concerned. We will be coming back here again, and if you could give us a lift back to the village of the Dragon People, we would be very grateful.”

After answering that, the great hero set out to follow the troops that would take him to the royal capital.

“What about the rest of you?”

Tauro checks with the remaining 40 or more dragon race warriors.

“Most of us will stay behind to take down the remnants of the assassination guild, but some of us would like to go back to the village and report what happened, so if you could send them, that would be great.”

One of the warriors asked Tauro on the others behalf.

“I understand. I will send you right away. Ragune, please.”

“Oh, Yes!”

Thus, Tauro sent a few people back to the village of the Dragon People, but when he returned, Drago, Ragune’s brother, noticed him and welcomed him.

“Oh! Tauro-dono. It’s been a while.”

“It’s been a long time, Drago-san. I’m here today to deliver a few of the dragon people who were working over there.”

“Thank you for your efforts.”

The dragon people who were given a ride thanked Tauro and walked out of Drago’s house.

“…For this, I have to tell Ragune to set the entrance/exit for the Dimensional Corridor outside.”

Drago chuckled and blurted out to Tauro.

“Yes, I see. ─ ─ Oh, and Ragune is here too.”

As the two  were talking, Ragune came back in the “dimensional corridor.”

“Brother, you look well. ─ ─ Tauro, it’s time for me to leave too, is that okay?”

With only a brief greeting to her older brother Drago, she urged Tauro to return to the city of Caxart.

“Yeah, all right. But first, Ragune, you might want to set the doorway outside, okay?”

Under Tauro’s advice, Ragune set the entrance to the “dimensional corridor” from her room, which she had set since she acquired the skill, to be in the garden of her house.

“Shall we go back then?”

 Ragune hurried Tauro along.

“Oh, come on, Ragune. You don’t have something else to say to your brother! Besides, what about Zion-kun, whom you two brought with you?”

““Ah!””

Tauro and Ragune looked at Drago’s point as they remembered.

They had been completely lost in the process of defeating the assassination guilds and so on.

“Ahaha… So how is Zion-kun?”

Tauro apologetically asked about the status of Zion’s training.

“He seems to be in the middle of his training in the Dragon’s Den.I check on him once every few days, but he seems to have a lot of guts for a human child, and he’s shown extraordinary things in practical training.’’

“I see. The Dragon’s Den is the place that the Dragon People say is hell, isn’t it?”

“…… Yes, well. Even we, my siblings and I, remember it…”

““Damn, kill me…….””

The older brother Drago and the younger sister Ragune come out with their usual phrase, beautifully hamming it up.

“It’s hell after all, isn’t it? ……. Are you doing well there, Zion?”

“Yeah. It seems like he’s telling himself, ‘I can’t be weak in order to help Tauro-sama!'”

“He said that? …… hmm.  I just want you to do well for yourself. ……”

“Ha ha. Tauro-sama. Some people think that if it were up to them, they wouldn’t have to work so hard. However, it is often the case that they can work hard for the sake of others. I think Zion is that type of person.”

That’s how Drago evaluated Zion, whom Tauro had brought with him.

“I see… No matter what the motivation is, in the end, the person will grow through their efforts and find their own path.”

“That’s what I mean.”

 Drago nodded at Tauro’s understanding.

“How is Zion-kun’s progress?”

“In a nutshell, he needs more time. The person in charge said that if he did, he would be of great help to you, Tauro-dono.”

“So, a little more time, please do your best, Zion-kun.”

“Yes, I will tell the “Dragon’s Den” officer to do so.”

Tauro continued to ask for Zion and returned to the city of Caxart with Ragune.

“Anyway, Ragune. Is the Dragon’s Den really that dreadful of a place?”

Once again, Tauro was curious about the mysterious training place.

“I’ve been saying all along that it’s …… awesome, but that place is hell,……. Frankly, I think it’s unusual that Zion, a child of the human race, is able to do so well,……. Damn, kill me …….”

When Ragune remembered, her usual lines came out again.

“Well, it’s a little late, but I’m going out too. I’ll probably be back in a week or so.”

“If that’s the case, you won’t be able to stay there for too long, right? You can take your time, okay?”

Considering the distance to the Marquisate of Van Dyne, Tauro thought she would only be able to stay for two days.

“No, it wouldn’t be good to leave you for too long. While I’m gone, you and Ankh should get along well together.”

Two men getting along with each other is a delicate matter, but Ragone would not have thought that far ahead.

Tauro nodded in agreement and sent Ragune off on her own.
