Just another Isekai Lover~

Chapter 12- Mysterious Agency

Upon hearing that, it seems that Sarah and the others are going outside the town.

Thinking that it wouldn’t be right to just assume, Licia tells Sarah, “Wait a moment,” and steps away from her seat for a short while.

She goes to Lessard’s cabin to have a conversation and obtain permission before returning to Sarah.

“Can I also join you for a bit?”

“Sure! I’ll wait downstairs, so come join us once you’re ready!”

Licia sees the two off and heads back to her father’s cabin.

“Father, about the earlier discussion…”

“Well, I was considering assigning Weiss as an escort, but with the members of the Seven Great Heroic faction Houses there, there shouldn’t be anything to worry about.”

“I understand. Those kids won’t push themselves too hard either, right?”

“That’s right. But Licia, make sure you don’t go overboard when Ren isn’t around.”

“Father! It sounds like you’re saying I’ll do whatever I want if Ren isn’t here!

“……..”

Lessard falls silent.

He places his hand on his waist and says, “It means that I trust Ren that much.”

Without explicitly saying anything, he refrains from telling his daughter about Ren.

However, there is no concern that Licia would behave too freely, as she had expressed. The words just now were merely a precaution, akin to a parting greeting before seeing them off.

“Make sure you come back before it gets too late. Understand?”

“Yes, I understand.”

After finishing her conversation with her father, Licia returns to her room. By the time she finishes preparing herself, it has been over ten minutes since she parted ways with Sarah.

When she heads downstairs in the inn, she sees Sarah, Vane, and several others in the lobby.

Among the gathering of members from the Seven Great Heroic Noble Houses, including Kaito and Nemu, there stood a lone girl carrying a bow.

Even though there were separate reasons for the individuals other than the guests of the Guardian Knights, they had gathered to spend the holiday together and had come together in Eupeheim. It can be seen how close they are to the representatives of the Great heroic faction Houses.

The girl with the bow approaches Licia.

“Nice to meet you, Saint.”

The girl has a rich voice and a smile.

She is slightly taller than Licia, but still relatively tall in general.

Her figure is endowed with curves that would make the same sex envious, complementing her beautiful face and giving her an elegant appearance. She has lustrous purple hair.

However, she manages to maintain a cute charm without being too mature.

Without feeling intimidated by the beauty of the girl in front of her, Licia speaks up.

“I’m Licia Clausel. Nice to meet you.”

When the two beautiful ladies stand side by side, there is an aura of something resembling power.

Having encountered an unexpected meeting, Licia speaks next.

“I never expected to meet you here, Lophelia-san… to be able to meet you like this…”

She mentions the girl’s name.

Charlotte Lophelia, a second-year student at the Imperial Military Academy enrolled in the special class.

Although they had never spoken or met at a party before, Licia knew. She is a daughter of one of the Seven Great heroic Houses, the Lophelia family.

Furthermore, she had heard from Sarah, who occasionally became unhappy because of Vane.

Seeing her in person, Licia’s impression matches what she had heard, that she is a beautiful and charming senior. Charlotte is a girl who seems capable of captivating the opposite sex just by walking.

She would be a formidable opponent for Sarah as well, with just a few words.

“Licia, don’t worry about Charlotte.”

“Charlotte? You mean Lophelia-san?”

“That’s right. It’s easier to just go with the flow rather than taking Charlotte’s advances seriously.”

Whether it is due to the connection with the Seven Great heroic Houses or not, Sarah also has a friendship with Charlotte.

Although Sarah sometimes spends anxious days, fearing that Vane might be taken away, the relationship between those born into the Seven Great heroic Houses remains unshakable.

“Remember this. Charlotte won’t allow anyone to meddle with her flirting.”

“Hahaha! Nemu thinks the same!”

“Yeah… Whenever I see Vane getting involved, I feel the same way.”

In front of Licia, who obediently listens to the descendants of the Seven Heroes, Charlotte gracefully laughs. She exudes a sense of self-assurance.

“It’s unexpected. It’s like I’m an annoying senior who is beautiful but irritating.”

“It’s not like that, I’m telling you! And don’t call yourself beautiful!”

Charlotte dismisses Sarah’s response.

“Oh well, whatever. You’re cute, Sarah-chan, you’re lively today too.”

“Hey, stop petting me out of nowhere!”

“It’s fine, isn’t it? Because you’re cute.”

“That’s not… I mean, not like that! Ugh! Talking with Charlotte always messes with my mood!”

Watching the descendants of the Seven Heroes conversing amiably, Licia’s cheeks loosen up.

She feels surprised to see that Sarah, whom she had deepened her friendship with in an unknown place, had such a good relationship with her senior.

She keenly feels the difference in the framework of factions.

“Argh! That’s enough! Let go!”

Annoying interaction.

Sarah, who was being clingy to Charlotte, shakes off her arm.

After catching her breath and calming herself, she says,

“Let’s go!”

She starts walking ahead of everyone.

Licia follows along, as if chasing after her.

Though it’s not an answer to Licia’s question about the destination, Sarah says,

“Since we came to Eupeheim, we have to go to that place!”

This is one of the rare opportunities for Saint Licia to join a party in the world line known by Ren.

The Legend of the Seven Heroes Part I is also in its final stages, and this is a scene of a small conversation in an unprecedented location.

◇ ◇ ◇ ◇

Ren, riding in a carriage, heads towards the administrative district in Eupeheim.

He talks to Radius, who was waiting for him, about what will happen next.

“We’ll head straight to the Mysterious Agency like this.”

“Mm, understood.”

The Mysterious Agency.

It is one of the public institutions in Leomel, a national research institution involved in magic.

Various topics, including ancient artifacts and mythical stories, are often studied there. Historical materials related to the Lion King have also been handled in cooperation with the Lion Sanctuary.

Currently, someone who taught Radius is affiliated with the agency as a researcher.

“By the way, how was your journey in the Guardian Knight?”

“It was fun. I enjoyed a different atmosphere than before, and I plan to relax in Eupeheim from tomorrow.”

“That’s good to hear. It’s a shame this time, but if there’s another opportunity, let’s ride together.”

“Of course. Looking forward to it.”

It was natural for them to exchange promises, even if the other person was the Third Prince.

This was their everyday life.

“Speaking of which, if you could have made it in time today, it would have been great if Radius could have come along.”

Ren’s true feelings were not intended to underestimate Radius’ schedule; he thought it would have been even more enjoyable if he had accompanied them. But Radius had been particularly busy these past few days and didn’t have the flexibility.

“I’m sorry. There was an important matter that couldn’t be avoided.”

So someday, another opportunity.

As they continued talking, a considerable amount of time, ten to twenty minutes, had passed.

During this time, the carriage had continued to move through the town and reached the administrative district of Eupeheim.

After another ten minutes, the carriage stopped. As Radius was visiting, it stopped in an inconspicuous place in the rear.

“We have arrived.”

A knight called out from outside the carriage.

Ren stepped out and looked up at the colossal building of the Mysterious Agency.

“Wow…”

He showed his admiration for the time being.

Is this the famous Mysterious Agency? He gazed at it with a casual feeling.

Similar to the Lion Sanctuary, it had many spires and a tower-like building with an ivory-colored exterior. It was characterized by being even taller than Elendil’s huge complex station and the aerial garden.

“We have already followed the necessary procedures. You can enter with peace of mind.”

Even if you enter from the back entrance, there were tremendous security measures in place. There were multiple layers of defensive magic devices and elite knights. The floor was covered with yellowish-bronze cobblestones. The walls, ceiling, and chandeliers illuminating the interior were also of the same color and caught the eye.

Ren and Radius’ footsteps echoed there.

“The report on the excavation of the ruins.”

“Wait, I received a message from sensei.”

“Respond to the Imperial Court like this. ‘Do not interfere with the jurisdiction of the Mysterious Agency’.”

There were researchers dressed in white coats walking around, as well as people dressed in luxurious-looking suits.

“I don’t really get it, but are the Mysterious Agency and the Imperial Court on bad terms?”

“They are incredibly hostile. The Mysterious Agency has various privileges for research and investigation, but the interpretation of the law has always been a troublesome matter. They frequently argue due to differences in opinion.”

“Oh… sounds tough.”

Not delving into the complicated discussion, he simply thought, “So that’s how it is.”

While the adults walked, Ren and Radius stood out a bit.

Some people looked at them with a perplexed expression, but…

“Y-Your Highness, the Third Prince!?”

“Well, this is――――”

Everyone immediately stopped in their tracks and immediately lowered their heads deeply.

Radius lightly nodded in response and walked alongside Ren down the long corridor.

Walking for a few minutes with Radius, who seemed familiar with the place, they reached a magic elevator.

The two got on it and headed high up in the massive Mysterious Agency.

Passing the tenth floor, the twentieth floor, and surpassing the thirtieth floor, the elevator stopped at the thirty-third floor.

The folding doors opened, revealing a long, long corridor. At the very end of this corridor, there was only one room.
