Just another Isekai Lover~

Chapter 18: Busy days

First, he left Clausel and took about ten days to get to the town where the magic boat port was located. Next, he took almost a full day by magic boat to Elendil, where he stayed for five days before returning to Clausel, taking almost the same amount of time as the outbound trip.

It had been almost a month since Ren had returned to his mansion in Clausel.

It was midday when Weiss arrived at the old mansion and visited him, who had just finished unpacking.

It was at the entrance of the old mansion.

“How was the hard sword technique lesson?”

“Edgar-san told me that I have a talent for the hard sword technique. He will teach me again next time, so I will go to the imperial capital when the time is right.”

“I knew it! I knew you could do it!”

Weiss was as pleased as if it was his own and smiled a friendly smile.

Weiss, after listening to Ren’s story in the capital, said, “I have something I want to discuss with you,” and asked Ren for a favor.

“I heard that you’re planning to resume your investigation of monsters in the eastern forest in the near future. If you don’t mind, would you be willing to let the young lady accompany you on that occasion?”

“I don’t see anything wrong with her accompanying me, but what’s going on?”

“Umu… As the boy knows, the special class at the Imperial Military Academy has some final exams where you have to fight monsters, right? I’m going to have the young lady do some serious training in this area.”

“I hope it will be all right. I’m worried that the test will be like the one in the Baldor Mountains.”

“In that case, you can rest assured then. The Imperial Military academy is also concerned about this, the content of the final exam was changed immediately after the last incident.”

Originally, the examination venue was kept secret to ensure fairness so that there would be no difference between the nobility and the commoners.

Assuming that this was the reason for causing such an uproar as in the Baldor Mountains, the exam venue will be announced and administered for some time to come.

Behind the scenes, they are sparing no time or effort to maintain fairness.

Perhaps, from now on, the exam will lack more money than ever before.

“But after all this time, are you sure the eastern forest will be enough?”

“Hmm? What do you mean?”

“The monsters that inhabit the eastern forests are not good for training. “

After all, Licia was able to fight well enough against the monsters when she fought with Jerukku.

The only troublesome monsters that appear in the eastern forest are the earthworms, which crawl on the ground with their hard shell covered body.

Earthworms are bought at a high price because they are troublesome to hunt, but that is all.

No matter how proud the Imperial Military academy is of its special classes, there are no strong monsters that appear as Ren envisioned. Except for special exceptions such as Asval.

Therefore, if you just want to get used to the monsters, it is fine to say that the forest in the east is fine.

Ren’s point was off the mark, but Weiss nodded, “Indeed”.

Because of that, he was looking ahead to Licia’s future.

“For me personally, I’d prefer to do it in the area around Elendil. That area isn’t inhabited by powerful monsters due to its proximity to the imperial capital, but it’s stronger than the forest east of Clausel.”

“I see. But boy, you know a lot.”

“I’ve studied a lot.”

Weiss nodded to Ren’s words and crossed his arms.

In fact, Ren had a valid point. It is important to take steps to fight monsters, but even so, there are limits.

Licia also had to work hard on her studies, so she had better make good use of her time.

(Yeah? Heading to Elendil is also tricky)

Ren, sensing a contradiction, opens his mouth.

“I’m sorry. It takes time to go to Elendil, so perhaps we can’t use the time efficiently.”

Licia had avoided going to the capital with Ren the other day because she was studying for an exam.

This is just like putting the cart before the horse.

Ren apologized for having said that without thinking.

“It’s okay if it’s just for a few hours. She can study for the exam at Elendil’s anyway.”

“Is that how it is—-“

“Well, In Elendil we can call a teacher from one of the nobility to the mansion, you know. SInce it’s decided, I shall go and consult with the head of the family!”

“Eh, ah —- Weiss-sama!”

Weiss quickly went back to the main residence, and the Ren who was left behind laughed aloud, “Are you sure…?”

Come to think of it. It was all he could do.

If Licia’s base of operations were to be moved to Elendil now, it would be more convenient for all kinds of things.

A few dozen seconds later.

Instead of Weiss, who had left, Licia came to the old building.

“Ren? Weiss left in a hurry. …… What’s going on?”

“It seems he had some thoughts about your training, Licia-sama.”

“My training?”

Ren recounted in detail the conversation they had just had.

Licia was thrilled to hear what he had to say.

“Fufu—Ren you’re very busy these days. You must be exhausted after traveling back and forth between Clausel and the city so many times.”

“I’m fine. I don’t know if it’s a good idea to send you off by yourself….”

“Why is that?”

(I can’t say it’s dangerous.)

But Licia somehow realized what Ren was thinking.

She stepped forward with a dainty angelic smile on her face, and Ren turned away and looked in the direction of the day after tomorrow.

Licia reached out her hand to Ren’s face and made him turn his head toward her.

“What?”

The same words as before, but unlike before, they had turned into a stifled question.

“No, um…..”

“Yes, that’s right. I’ll make you some tea. You haven’t had a chance to relax since you got back, have you?”

“Actually, I’ll be working on the old building soon.”

“I Licia Clausel will allow you to rest.”

When the daughter of the lord who took care of him said that, as expected, Ren couldn’t say anything back.

When Ren gave up and said with a contemplative look, “I’ll have a feast,” Licia’s voice bubbled with satisfaction as she said, “Please do so”.

She turned her back on Ren to go to the kitchen of the old building, but turned around as soon as she started walking.

“Uh— aren’t you in a bad mood?”

“What? Why?:”

“Because I said something that was a joke, but it sounded as though I was wielding my power over you…..”

She seemed to be curious now, and asked Ren’s expression a little anxiously.

That is also typical of Licia. Ren smiled gently.

“I don’t mind at all, even if it was a strange joke.”

“If it’s Ren, I’d be happy to—- Kohon! I don’t care! I knew you’d think it was weird!”

It was Ren, unusually, who pointed it out.

However, there wasn’t the slightest hint of hostility between the two, and they let out a cheerful laugh at each other.

Licia then listened with great interest to Ren’s experiences in the imperial capital.

After enjoying a cup of tea, Ren handed Licia a small bottle.

Before returning from the Lion’s sanctuary, Edgar had given it him to present to Licia.

“I have to put a scratch on it, right?”

“It seems so.”

Licia was rolling the crystal ball in the vial with a curious look on her face, as if she was wondering if she could do it and if she had the talent for hard swordsmanship.

Lessard listened to Ren’s suggestion and allowed them to head to Elendil.

The group includes both Lessard and Weiss. Lessard also had some convenient work to do in Elendil, then and Weiss decided to accompany him.

The departure was in December, a little more than a month after Ren returned to Clausel.

He had been doing that round trip a lot lately, Ren thought as he stepped off at the Hanging Gardens, the huge station that Elendil prides itself on.

“I don’t have any plans like last time, and I’ll just relax here at the mansion. However, I think Licia and I will go to the imperial capital tomorrow.”

“Father? I don’t think you had any particular plans.”

“We can go to a clothing store. It’s about time your clothes were tailored in new fabrics, because they’re getting smaller.”

The clothes are the ones that Licia had inherited from her late mother. The white military-inspired outfit accentuates Licia’s loveliness and dignified beauty.

“I understand. If that’s the case, by all means.”

“Weiss also has some business to attend to, so let’s finish that business on the way.”

“Is that all right? If it were me, I would go there alone later…..”

“That’s fine.  Licia would like to see it too, so it’s convenient for her.”

“Hey Weiss! If you’re going to the blacksmith town, I want to go there too!”

“If you two say so, I’ll take you up on your offer……”

The conversation settles down and the group leaves the path lined with magic ships. Stepping into the hanging gardens, they headed for the ground level.
