Chapter 183: What Happens Next

Tauro used [Magic Storage] to help Yu and Ren move out. Waiting for them to pack everything one item at a time would have taken far too long.

He gathered all the belongings from their rooms in an instant. The two women stared in astonishment, but Tauro ignored their reactions and quickly carried everything out of the house.

Aeris remained in a foul mood. She was furious that people she disliked had treated their home as they pleased, and her feelings became even clearer when she asked Tauro to cast [Purification] throughout the entire house.

Tauro decided to take Yu and Ren’s belongings to the nearby house where Shin and Rumeya lived. The two men naturally accepted without objection.

What happened afterward was a matter for Shin, Rumeya, Yu, and Ren to settle among themselves, and Tauro had no desire to become involved.

“Now the four of you can discuss it properly.”

With that, Tauro promptly returned home.

“We’re finally back…”

He sighed in relief while taking Aeris’s belongings out of [Magic Storage] and restoring them to their places.

“Yes, we’re finally home… But what are those four going to do now?” Aeris asked.

“I don’t know. That’s a matter between them.”

Tauro could only smile wryly. He had never understood romantic relationships particularly well, even in his previous life, and being reborn in another world hadn’t suddenly made him an expert. He had no useful answer to give her.

Both of them were exhausted from the journey and the commotion, so they went to bed early that evening.

The following morning, Shin and Rumeya arrived while Tauro and Aeris were eating breakfast. Dark circles beneath their eyes made it clear that neither man had slept much. Their discussion with Yu and Ren had apparently continued far into the night.

Tauro invited the weary pair inside and offered them seats.

“It’s about Yu and Ren… We’re really sorry about yesterday!”

They bowed deeply.

“We were away for a long time and left you with a lot of trouble too,” Tauro replied. “Let’s say we were both partly at fault. I’m sorry as well.”

He hoped that would settle the matter, but Aeris also lowered her head.

“It was because of my circumstances that we stayed in the Royal Capital for so long. I caused both of you a great deal of trouble. I’m sorry, Shin, Rumeya.”

The two men hurriedly tried to stop her from bowing.

“No! None of this would have happened if we had clearly explained everything to Yu and Ren.”

“That’s right. We were the ones who kept postponing the problem from the beginning. We’re sorry.”

Shin and Rumeya began apologizing all over again.

“Hahaha! This will never end if we keep going, so let’s stop here,” Tauro said with a laugh, bringing the exchange of apologies to a close.

“By the way, what are you two going to do now?” Aeris asked.

It was the most important question.

“Of course we want the four of us—Tauro, Aeris, Shin, and me—to continue as Black-Gold Wings!” Rumeya answered.

“Me too,” Shin added. “We told Yu and Ren from the beginning that our party with them would only last until you returned. We finally got them to agree to disband it. They’re going to the guild this morning to look for new front-line members.”

“So your romantic relationships with them are continuing, though?” Aeris asked, having apparently read the answer from their expressions.

“Well… that’s a separate matter,” Rumeya replied shyly.

Perhaps their lack of sleep hadn’t come entirely from arguing, Tauro thought.

He had no intention of interfering in Shin and Rumeya’s private lives. Still, Yu and Ren clearly resented him and Aeris, and he worried that their hostility might create further problems in the future.

“Come to think of it, you two have already reached E-plus rank, haven’t you?” Aeris asked, either to change the subject or simply out of curiosity.

“That’s right!” Rumeya said. “While you were away, we returned to O’Circus and completed more quests. That’s how we reached E-plus, isn’t it, Shin?”

“Yeah. Yu and Ren were watching, so I worked especially hard to impress them.”

Their girlfriends had evidently provided considerable motivation.

“Then Aeris and I need to catch up soon as well,” Tauro said.

“Exactly! Starting today, the revived Black-Gold Wings will begin accepting quests again!” Aeris declared eagerly.

“Calm down, Aeris. These two are badly sleep-deprived, so we aren’t doing anything as a team today.”

Aeris looked more closely at them and finally noticed how exhausted they were.

“You’re right. Both of you should take the day off. Tauro and I’ll go to the guild by ourselves.”

“Then we’ll accept your offer and go home to sleep.”

Shin and Rumeya departed soon afterward. Tauro and Aeris saw them off, finished breakfast, cleaned up, and headed to the Adventurers’ Guild.
