Just another Isekai Lover~

Chapter 10: The Use of Violence

Edgar demanded the slave. It could only be Celia he was referring to.

There was no way I could give her up.

And what does he mean by “previous disrespect”? I don’t remember being rude to Edgar...

“What previous disrespect? What are you talking about?”

“Not you!”

Suddenly, Edgar was enraged. He slammed the table, his face turning red as he glared at me.

“From now on, you will address me as ‘Edgar-sama’! I am the heir, and you are the backup! Know your place! Do you have any idea how much I’ve had to put up with from you? You’ll have to curry favor with me from now on!”

Perhaps this was the cry of Edgar’s soul, who had been treated as a backup until now. Or maybe, as Edgar said, it might be correct to live by currying favor with the future marquis Edgar.

But――――.

He demanded Celia. That was something I could not forgive.

“Edgar, I’m willing to accept most things. But I cannot give up Ceelia.”

“No way! Hand over that slave! It will be proof of your loyalty! If you don’t give her up, I won’t forgive you!”

“What do you plan to do with Celia?”

“Originally, she was a filthy slave, right? I’ll use her up however I see fit. I’ll return her to you after I’m done breaking her.”

Use Celia up…? Break her…?

It was a nightmarish reality that made me feel dizzy. I couldn’t leave someone so dangerous as Edgar unchecked.

I slowly stood up and approached Edgar.

“What’s this? Are you going to raise your hand against me, the heir? With only the fire attribute? You can’t win against me with my water attribute!”

Edgar directed his hand towards me.

It was probably a preparatory move for casting magic.

But at this distance, a punch is faster than magic!

“Water sho… begya!?”

I landed a powerful right straight to Edgar’s face. Then, I mounted him and began lightly slapping his cheek.

“Edgar, if you lay a hand on Celia, I will kill you.”

“You! Raising your hand against me, the heir! Know your place!”

I continued to punch Edgar’s face, who showed no signs of regret.

“Geh!?”

“If you lay a hand on Celia, I will kill you.”

“I’ll make you regret this! Leonhart!”

Edgar struggled to break free, but I was heavy and seemed to be unable to escape.

I punched him.

“Bebah!?”

“If you lay a hand on Celia, I will kill you.”

“Don’t give me orders! I am the heir!”

I punched him again.

“If you lay a hand on Celia, I will kill you.”

I punched him again.

“If you lay a hand on Celia, I will kill you.”

I punched him again.

“If you lay a hand on Celia, I will kill you.”

I punched him again.

“If you lay a hand on Celia, I will kill you.”

……

……

“I understand! I won’t touch her!”

Edgar, his face now a mess of tears and blood, cried out.

“Is it true?”

“Yes! Yes!”

Edgar desperately nodded.

“I’ll believe you this time. But this is the only time I’ll forgive you.”

I got off Edgar and left him, sobbing, in the conference room.

I hoped this would make Edgar rethink his actions…

For Celia’s safety, I needed to come up with some plans.

Afterwards, my outburst spread throughout the mansion, and Arthur scolded me, but I didn’t regret it.

I would do anything to protect Celia.

My vow was absolute.

 ◇

“Damn it! Damn it!”

I, Edgar, couldn’t calm my irritation from that day.

It should have been a memorable day when I, who had always been called a backup, became the heir!

But it’s all that fool Leonhart’s fault!

It’s absurd that Leonhart, a mere backup, would raise his hand against me, the heir!

As I grumbled while walking down the hallway, I spotted Camilla, Leonhart’s maid, and the slave.

I wanted that slave to pay for my master’s sins.

But――――.

“Lay a hand on Celia, and I’ll kill you.”

Every time I saw that slave, Leonhart’s words from that day resurfaced.

“Yikes!?”

Even now, if I tried to lay a hand on the slave, Leonhart might show up immediately. It might be a trap to lure me in.

Thinking like that, I couldn’t act impulsively.

Why should I, the heir of the Clarvain Marquis family, be scared of a mere slave?

“Damn it!”

Even though I finally became the heir...

But if things go as planned, I’ll become the marquis. On the other hand, Leonhart will remain a mere noble without rank or position. At that point, the number of servants I can command and the power I wield will be incomparable. I’ll take my full revenge on Leonhart once I become an adult...

And in two years, Leonhart will be away at the academy.

I just need to endure until then...

“Ugh...”

 ◇

Seeing Edgar walk away dejectedly, I felt a sense of relief.

Edgar had looked at Celia but hadn’t bothered her.

It seemed that the warning had some effect, at least.

It might have been a good idea to ask Camilla and Dominic to keep an eye on Celia just in case.

“Leonhart-sama? What are you doing here?”

Celia, unaware of what had happened, looked at me with a curious expression.

“I was worried that you might drop my snack.”

“Oh, I won’t drop it.”

Celia said with a gentle smile.

Since the birthday ceremony, there have been rumors among the servants, but for some reason, it felt like Celia still trusted me.

I want to keep building a better relationship with her.
