Just another Isekai Lover~

Chapter 3: Woff, 13 years old, Part 3

Relics.

They are special abilities, like skills or gifts.

In this world, instead of magic, skills, or gifts, relics exist.

Many people possess at least one relic.

Even having just one can be a ray of light for surviving in this harsh world.

I was born with four relics.

I’m not sure if it’s because I was reincarnated or not.

I probably won’t know for my whole life.

I don’t even understand reincarnation itself, and it’s unclear whether it’s the work of a god.

There are many gods worshipped in this world, and it’s unclear which one it could be.

However, thanks to the four relics, I’m somehow surviving.

And I will never tell anyone or teach anyone about them.

Someone once said,

“Rarity steals freedom.”

I think my four relics are unusual and abnormal, even for myself.

Especially the fourth one.

I don’t desire to rise to power, gain fame, or become a hero.

I just want to live happily and normally in this world.

Because that’s my life.

After the ring, the next item was an unbroken iron sword.

Of course, iron can be sold. And this one can be sold as a sword.

The green light revealed the following items:

The first was an old belt.

The second was a finely crafted compass.

The third was a nearly new red-copper dagger.

The fourth was a talisman of the cornucopia of abundance.

“Alright. That’s enough for today.”

I’ll use the remaining time for excavation work.

Four months ago, an earthquake struck a remote region near Hydrangea.

It was a pretty strong tremor, and the dungeon was also affected.

An investigation team was sent, and the dungeon remained closed for nearly a month until no abnormalities were found.

When the closure was lifted, I entered the garbage heap. The earthquake had caused several garbage mountains to collapse.

Red danger points had increased.

Among them, I stopped in my tracks.

There was a blue light at a white safe point.

That’s right—Super Ultra Rare.

It was in the center of the garbage mountain at the far right.

To obtain it, I had to dig through that garbage mountain.

Little by little, I continued digging inside.

I hid the entrance well so that only I could enter.

Without the relic Crisis Detection, the narrow passage I created would have caused serious injury or death.

Though it would be a matter of bad luck if death occurred.

We’re putting our lives on the line here.

Every child who comes to this garbage heap is not just a rival.

They are enemies.

Enemies.

That’s why I don’t know anyone’s name and I’m not friendly with anyone.

The garbage heap forbids fighting, but once you leave, it’s a lawless zone.

I’ve never been attacked because I make sure not to stand out.

But I always think there’s a constant danger of being targeted.

You can’t survive without being cautious and a little cowardly.

I sneak into the garbage mountain through the hidden entrance, accustomed to it.

Inside, it isn’t very large. I confirm the blue light.

The blue light shines from diagonally below me.

The light is small.

That’s proof that a Super Ultra Rare is nearby.

I place my hand over the blue light.

I move my hand back and use the third relic Vanish.

A transparent sphere appears in my palm.

With it, I erase the junk-like armor, shields, and broken, rusted blades.

The relic Vanish can make anything it touches disappear.

This transparent sphere only appears in the palm of my dominant hand.

It doesn’t leave my hand, and it can stretch or shrink. The smallest it can be is the size of a marble.

The largest it can become is about the size of a basketball.

Vanish can differentiate between what to erase and what not to.

For example, I can erase clothes without damaging my skin.

I can even erase a treasure chest without removing the contents.

So even though I’m scraping away at the junk, the Super Ultra Rare won’t disappear.

However, quickly erasing everything is risky because it could cause the garbage mountain to collapse, so I have to be careful.

I proceed slowly and carefully with the excavation.

“…I guess that’s enough for today. Hmmm…”

I’m tired, so I’ll stop.

The blue light has become much stronger and clearer.

Just a little more.

I suppress my urge to rush and decide to look forward to it tomorrow.

I leave the garbage heap, greet the gatekeeper, Gauro-san, and before heading home, there’s a place I need to stop by.

I’m on the main road, heading to the back alley of the slums south of Hydrangea.

“Hey. Look at that.”

“Is that it? Wow, that’s amazing.”

“Wow… She’s not just pretty, she’s gorgeous.”

“And all of them are Grade III explorers, right?”

Grade III!? I involuntarily follow the gazes of the people talking.

There, I see three explorers walking briskly.

Suddenly, it feels as if the whole area is colored… such a vividness I’ve never felt before.

The first one is a beautiful cat beast girl with light green hair and white highlights.

She’s wearing a black robe, her one eye hidden by her hair, and holding a wooden staff.

Two white tails, long and short, are swaying gently behind her.

The second one has long golden hair, reaching her waist.

She’s a beautiful elf wearing unique full-body white armor.

She carries a large round shield on her back. She’s probably a tank.

And the third one, a short-haired, peach-colored haired beauty.

Her red eyes have a sleepy gaze.

She’s wearing a black jacket with red lines, and… what’s that?

She’s dressed in a white bodysuit that looks very space-like and mechanical.

She also has tattered pants that resemble jeans.

What catches my attention is the blade hanging from her waist, which is a single piece.

The design isn’t fantasy at all. It’s sci-fi.

There’s no doubt that she’s not from this world.

Where is she from? The sea of stars?

They all have a presence that makes everyone, young or old, turn their heads.

They had that kind of glamour.

“…?”

“Ah!”

For just a moment, my eyes met with the cat beast girl’s.

But that was just a coincidence.

Then they continued on their way.
