Just another Isekai Lover~

Chapter 26: Searching for Something 0

Morning.

I got out of the newly replaced straw bed, changed clothes, and washed my face.

The bed was made with a wooden frame, straw laid on it, and an old blanket added on top. Directly in front of the bed was the kitchen.

It wasn’t a high-end system kitchen like the ones from my past life. It was just a stove and a counter for the cutting board. There was a water drainage area and a barrel for storing water.

I placed straw and flint stones into the stove. When crushed, the flint stones ignite.

The stove had a frying pan on it. It wasn’t made of iron or copper, but of stone—thick, rugged, and deep.

The handle was wrapped in several layers of cloth. I remembered using a similar frying pan in my past life.

So, when I found one at the tool shop, I didn’t hesitate to buy it. I took bacon, eggs, and two pieces of bread beans out of the food jar.

I cut the bacon into decent thickness and put it into the frying pan. It overflowed, but I carefully cooked it.

“…It smells good.”

The sound of meat sizzling was nice. Once it was browned, I flipped it over.

There was a lot of fat. Good. It’s done.

I placed the crispy, thick bacon into a deep dish, used my [Vanish] magic to extinguish the flame, and transferred the excess fat to an oil jar.

It’s nearly waste oil, but I reuse it and dispose of it after about three days. I also dispose of organic waste, large garbage, and even urine and feces from the toilet.

The relic [Vanish] is very convenient.

My dwelling is in a rather peculiar location in the slums’ residential area.

It’s not an inn, an apartment, or a rental—it’s my own house.

To be precise, it’s my uncle’s house.

The reason I came to this city was because this house existed.

My home is nestled between a brick-built building and a white stone building. At first glance, it looks like a narrow, small wooden shed.

Behind the building is an old tower. In reality, this shed is the entrance.

The entrances of the neighboring brick and white stone buildings are connected inside, though they look like separate buildings on the outside.

But inside, they are all connected. There are five rooms in total.

Three above ground, one in the basement, and one in the tower. The old tower at the back is also part of the home.

I mainly use two rooms: the bedroom at the far left and the washroom at the front left. I also use the toilet on the right side.

The room on the right side is used as a storage area. The combined bedroom and washroom are filled with barrels and wooden boxes.

The washroom’s basement is used as a storage room, and the tower room is a small room at the top with a good view.

I use two buildings, yet my home isn’t as spacious as it seems from the outside.

The surrounding walls are thick. According to my uncle, it’s good in winter, but it’s quite stuffy in the summer.

For heat control, the tower has good ventilation, but he told me to make use of the basement if it gets too hot.

Following his advice last year, I was able to spend the summer comfortably. The basement is cool.

So, it’s perfect for storage.

“…”

I cracked two eggs into the frying pan, added some chilled milk from my flask, and seasoned it with salt and pepper before stirring it.

Once well mixed, I turned on the heat and added butter.

I stirred it with a wooden spatula while it cooked. When it became soft-cooked, I transferred it to the deep dish with bacon.

After that, I just needed to add the bread beans, and it was ready.

“Mm, good job.”

Bacon and Scrambled Eggs.

I used to make this breakfast often in my past life. I occasionally make it here as well.

“Still, it’s really convenient.”

The Legendary Crescent Moon Vessel.

Especially the water purification and temperature control functions are incredibly useful.

It’s only been five days since I got it, but I can’t imagine living without it.

The alchemy function is still a bit of a mystery.

To use it effectively, I need more knowledge, among other things.

I eat the bacon and take a bite of the scrambled eggs.

“…I shouldn’t have added salt to the scrambled eggs…”

The saltiness of the bacon made it too salty.

The texture is good. The crispy meat texture isn’t bad either.

But it’s just too salty and intense. On the plus side, the bread beans go well with it, but I made a small mistake.

I sip from the flask in between bites.

Cold milk. It’s delicious.

“Ahhh.”

I manage to finish eating. I realize that the salt balance is something I need to improve on.

I wash the deep dish and frying pan, then brush my teeth.

I use charcoal in my mouth and brush with a twig from a tree.

Teeth brushing is done.

Next is my daily training.

Training with the relic [Vanish].

[Vanish] is very useful.

But it’s not without risks.

Since [Vanish] can erase anything, if I make a mistake, it could lead to serious injuries.

That’s why I include it in my daily routine for practice.

“……”

I manifest [Vanish] in my dominant hand.

I start from its maximum size and gradually reduce it until it’s about the size of a marble in my fingertip.

I repeat this three times.

“…Maybe I’ve gotten a bit faster…”

I play with the [Vanish] at marble size.

It rolls amusingly along my fingertips, never leaving my hand.

Then, I finish my knife handling and daily training.

I drink the cold milk from my flask.

“Ahh.”

And with that, my usual morning ends.

What should I do today?
