Chapter 51. Laughing with a wicked look

“You taught me a lot and it was very helpful. Thank you.”

Jude-san, holding Luna, bows his head to Kaen-san. Jude listened carefully to everything Kaen said from start to finish, without missing a beat.

Yes, I’m truly glad I understand Luna better now.

According to Kaen-san, if she’s become able to use green magic,

The only problem Is what to do about the sparkling tree, which I’m apparently in a provisional contract with.

And is pressuring me to sign a full contract.

According to Kaen-san, it’s actually more advantageous to just go ahead and formalize the contract.

If we sign a contract, they said they’d cast a barrier around the field, making it look like an ordinary farm from outside, disguising it perfectly.

That would be extremely helpful. If it grows big enough to be materialized, it will also amplify the green magic, helping the plants grow even better.

Whenever I see the name tag on the hanamizuki tree in the schoolyard of my elementary school, I remember the boys teasing, “Runny nose! Runny nose!!” They all burst into laughter, but now I wonder—what was so funny about that?

Next, I consider taking a part of the sparkling tree and naming it Kiki, Lala, or Kira. All of those have such strong existing images.

Like the little twin star siblings, or the murderer from Death Note. Apparently, the star siblings are said to be as tall as the moon—they’re enormous.

I also thought about abbreviating Hana-kami to Nami, but that’s too similar to the sailor navigator.

Since we already call it the sparkling tree, how about just:

“Kira-ra!”

The kanji could be “mica,” which is also sparkly, so it fits. like when you find something in a sandbox, you would cherish it, saying “it’s Gold!” right?

Yes, there was definitely a connection. I felt the faint thread between us suddenly grow thicker.

Well, If the person—no, the real thing—likes it, then isn’t that enough?

Kira-ra seems to have been charmed by the Luokudo, as she says with a serious look in her eyes that she would do anything to get some. Liquid fertilizer is, apparently, something she only needs very rarely.

What happens when these incredibly cheat-level vegetables are cultivated in such a cheat way? Of course, they become cheat vegetables.

Well, if I could produce a normal amount of normal vegetables in this situation, I might be more surprised…

According to Kaen-san, these vegetables are delicious and packed with nutrients, and eating them can even cure minor ailments.

Of course, Luna ate some too and recovered quickly. She’s now very energetic. That’s a cause for celebration.

At first, I thought I could ask Regal-san to sell the excess vegetables to the Agricultural Guild, but they’re of such high quality that it’s a bit problematic.

So I asked her to please take them, and in return, she handed me an enormous sum of money. Actually, Kaen-san made me open an account at the Agriculture Guild with her as my guarantor and the money was transferred there.

I’m stunned.

“Kaen-san, Kaen-san, this is too much,”

The digits must be wrong, right?

“Are you saying I made a mistake in pricing the vegetables?”

She said. Well, I don’t think she’d do something like that.

I had no choice but to shake my head.

“Yes, I’ll make a profit. And the seller will make a profit too. It’s a fair price. Or are you trying to make me look stingy and greedy?”

That was an unfair way to put it.

“Thank you very much for your business. I deeply appreciate your trust and evaluation. If there’s another opportunity, I hope we can work together again,”

In the end, I just said something that sounded like the standard phrases used in a certain online auction or flea market app…

“Yes. I look forward to working with you in the future.”
