Chapter 104

Chapter 104: Eat Plenty

Uh, well…

Maybe I overdid it a little?

Three of the heroes had collapsed like corpses, utterly defeated.

Their hands faintly moved, stroking their stomachs, barely showing signs of life.

“I want to eat… but I just can’t anymore…”

“There’s food right in front of me, yet…”

“Ah, no more…”

No, you don’t have to push yourselves so hard. If there’s leftovers, you can just take it home, right? You have time-stop storage, don’t you?

But if there’s food you really want to eat right in front of you, you’d just want to keep eating.

“French fries are a drink, after all.”

No, Kino-kun, I don’t think that’s quite right.

“It’s such a shame, it’s so delicious.”

And the one eating the most energetically and heartily was Momose-san.

Sorry to say, but because I’m particular about curry roux, making a giant pot of Japanese curry wasn’t financially possible. The cheapest curry roux I’ve ever bought costs 248 yen and only makes five servings. Considering the thousand yen budget on the day of the meal, it was tight.

So, I made one pot with five servings the way I usually do and served that first. The rice wasn’t saffron rice but plain white rice, so it looked like a typical curry rice dish.

That rice was a perfect match with the curry. The thick roux clung to it, making it less dry and turning it into something light and smooth.

Its slightly less sticky, somewhat crisp texture stood out, and it slid down very easily—like a drink.

I was surprised at how delicious it was, and thought it was rice made for curry. The sweetness of the rice and the spiciness of the curry—just perfect!

Since it was summer, I made a summer vegetable curry with pumpkin, tomatoes, eggplant, zucchini, onions, garlic, peppers, and corn kernels straight from the garden. It turned out incredibly delicious.

Oh, and the meat was an amazing quality Martha beef I got through Nipopo-san’s connections. The texture was melt-in-your-mouth and insanely tasty! I put in a lot!

Everyone devoured it with such fervor, practically licking the plates while crying, that I almost cried too. I’m glad none of the heroes couldn’t handle curry. By the way, I forgot to ask about allergies, but is everyone okay? Oh, you’re okay. That’s good.

Surprisingly, the person who showed the most excitement or rather, the most intense reaction to the curry was Momose-san.

I thought Kino-kun would be the one to fall head over heels.

“Saki-sama, I’ll follow you for the rest of my life. Can I call you ‘older sister’”?

She quickly approached, took my hand gently, and stared at me. I was captivated by the incredibly pure and classic beauty of her rose-like smile.

No, no, no, besides your tie isn’t crooked at all or anything. And considering your name is Momose Sei, shouldn’t I be the one calling you ‘Onee-sama’ instead?

“Onee-sama is a bit… Well, I’m glad you enjoyed the food. Oh, this isn’t Japanese curry, but I have more curry made with ingredients from here, and there’s other stuff too, so please wait a bit.”

“Got it, Big Sister!”

Her shining eyes lit up when she heard there was more curry left. But she still didn’t quite get it.

Next up was saffron rice and Martha’s special curry.

Martha-san’s curry leans more toward a spice curry, so it pairs incredibly well with the yellow saffron rice. It’s so delicious, It felt like the taste leveled up by a whole notch.

The ingredients are slowly simmered in a bread oven to bring out their full flavor.

Martha’s special curry is also incredibly delicious, I don’t know how to describe it. The combination of spices is just divine. The meat is chicken on the bone. The chicken is so tender that the bones slip right out when you lift it. Bone-in meat adds amazing broth flavor, and this curry is like a concentrated chunk of pure chicken umami.

There’s plenty of this curry, so you can have as many refills as you like! You can choose between white or saffron rice for your refill. Just tell me which you’d like.

I wanted everyone to top their curry with the deep fried summer vegetables they liked. The pumpkin slices were soft and fluffy, the fried okra made a great snack, and the eggplant and oil go perfectly together. There was zucchini too. Shishito peppers are good, but the thick, fried peppers was incredibly sweet and tasty.

Really glad I pressed the rapeseed oil myself.

Oh, I also recommend topping with this cheese. It’s super delicious cheese! It’s shredded fluffy and melts quickly.

I served a salad as a palate cleanser and kept bringing out fried foods in small portions one after another.

French fries came in salt, seaweed salt, and consomme flavors.

The fried chicken is quite flavorful with soy sauce and garlic, but there was also salted fried chicken.

The potatoes in the meat and potato dish had broken down a bit while cooking but still turned out tasty, so I want them to try it.

I actually like nikujaga where the edges break down a bit because they weren’t chamfered properly.

Every time I brought out food, cheers and shining eyes would greet me, which felt great. Eat your fill, everyone. There’s still plenty more, no need to fight over it.

For corn, I prepared both boiled and grilled corn, and I also seasoned the edamame beans with plenty of salt.

For a while, I kept quickly refilling the fried food and side dishes as they were eaten, responded to requests for more curry.

I served more as portions ran low. It’s okay—there’s still plenty left.

Huh? The rate at which they’re asking for curry seconds seems to be slowing down?
