Just another Isekai Lover~

Chapter 61: The Descent of the Tyrant

“Ah, sorry. I’m going to pick some flowers for a bit.”

After the interaction and self-introduction with Yuri, Primula stood up.

“Oh, I’ll go too.”

“Oh, then let me join you. I read in a book that girls always go to the restroom together!”

Viola and Yuri followed suit.

Looking at the clock, Rest noticed they had plenty of time until the guidance session after the entrance ceremony.

“All three of you, make sure not to be late. I’ll save the seats.”

“Got it. We’ll be right back.”

The three left the classroom, leaving Rest alone.

“…………”

Feeling idle, Rest looked around the classroom. About half of the seats in Class A were already filled. Some were sitting and waiting, while others were chatting with acquaintances.

(The ratio of nobles to commoners is about nine to one…)

More than half of the students in Class A were from noble backgrounds. Since the commoners who took the magic exam together were familiar, Rest roughly remembered their faces, especially those with outstanding achievements.

(Indeed, nobles who have received education in magic since childhood have an advantage. On the flip side, the commoners who passed from the designated slots must have worked considerably hard.)

The commoner newcomers in this classroom had achieved decent results in the “target shooting” during the entrance exam. What struck Rest as odd was that the boy who had performed well right after Rest and Yuri wasn’t present.

(Maybe he’s in a lower class…?)

Although he had the third-best results in the practical exam among the commoners, Cedric Boy was not in Class A. Perhaps he didn’t perform well on the written exam and ended up in a lower class.

(Well, if he were in the same class, it might have caused trouble. It’s probably better that he ended up in a different class, yeah.)

Thinking vaguely along those lines, Rest’s attention was drawn as the classroom door swung open with a rattling sound.

Who could open the door so forcefully? As Rest looked toward the entrance, there were three male students.

“That’s…!”

“Eh!?”

“Ugh…”

As the trio entered, a restless murmur spread through the classroom. It wasn’t a particularly positive reaction; rather, it was a reaction as if troublemakers had appeared.

“Why is he here…?”

“He’s in a different class. I heard he got into Class D…”

“D class? Wasn’t he supposed to be a magic genius?”

“I heard he left most of the written exam blank… said something like ‘All a king needs is power. If you need knowledge, ask your vassals.'”

Classmates started gossiping in hushed tones. Apparently, the male student who had entered was a famous person. Some of the conversations included unsettling content, creating an awkward atmosphere.

“…….?”

Rest, feeling perplexed, discreetly observed the trio that had appeared.

Leading the way was a male student with disheveled golden hair. His facial features were decent, but his eyes looked malicious, and he wore his blazer without buttoning it.

Following him were a tall, bald male and a small, nervous-looking, boy with glasses.

(They seem unnecessarily arrogant… In my past life, I’d avoid these types to steer clear of trouble…)

Rest quietly averted his gaze. Even in this life, it seemed better to avoid dealing with this type of person.

“…………”

However, the leading male of the trio, as if glaring at the entire classroom, started walking confidently toward Rest’s direction.

“Hey, you there.”

“…………”

“You! Look over here!”

“………… Seriously?”

Even though Rest tried to avoid them, the male student had clearly chosen to speak to him. Reluctantly turning around, Rest found the golden-haired boy leaning over the desk, looking down at him threateningly.

“Judging by your meager appearance, you’re a commoner, right?”

“………… Yes, but what about it?”

“Alright… from now on, you’re in Class D.”

“………… Huh?”

“Heh, since I, a member of Class A, am here, you can go to Class D instead. A commoner like you would find Class A too burdensome, so I’ll do you a favor and switch places.”

“…………”

Faced with the arrogant words of the young man, Rest was left speechless. Why did he have to endure such a demand from a guy he had just met, whose name he didn’t even know?

As Rest was stunned silence, the big, bald guy standing beside the golden-haired student slammed his hand on the desk in irritation.

“This gentleman here… His Highness Rodel Aiwood, the Third Prince, has ordered you to switch! You filthy commoner, just disappear already!”

(Rodel Iwood… Could it be…)

Could it be… Is this golden-haired young man the infamous foolish prince? With a grimace on his face, Rest gazed up at the trio while still seated in his chair.
