Chapter 31: Rosemary Marquis Family Meeting

Rest, who had been thoroughly defeated by Eilish in the training ground, was immediately carried to his room for treatment. He was on the verge of a broken spine and ruptured internal organs, but fortunately, his life was not in immediate danger. Rather, it seemed that he had been accurately tormented just before healing magic could barely fix him.

“Rest-kun…!”

“Rest-sama…!”

Viola and Primula—the Rosemary sisters—approached Rest, nursing him. It was a situation reminiscent of a redo, but what differed was what happened next. The sisters, who were taking care of Rest, were summoned by their mother and headed to the discussion room inside the mansion.

“What do you need, Mother?”

“Muu…”

The two who arrived at the discussion room glared at their mother. Eilish, meeting her beloved daughters’ resentful gazes, chuckled awkwardly and crossed her legs on the sofa.

“Don’t give me such a look. My dear daughters.”

“But, Mother…”

“To go that far… it’s terrible.”

“I intended to go easy. If I had embraced him seriously, his organs would have been blown away.”

“…………”

“It’s a joke. Don’t glare at your mother like that.”

Eilish tried to reassure her daughters, but Viola and Primula’s gazes remained stern. They were evidently upset about Rest’s injuries.

“Both of you, just sit down.”

Interrupting from the side was the father—Albert—who was present.

“I called you here for a reason. Sit down.”

“…………”

“…Excuse us.”

With a slightly cautious demeanor, the sisters sat on the facing sofas where their parents were seated. After making sure the daughters had settled, Eilish began to speak.

“Now… I’m not good at decorating words, so I’ll be straightforward. Viola, Primula… bear Rest-san’s children.”

“…………!?”

“H-Hey! You! Could you phrase it differently!”

Viola and Primula were dumbfounded by the bombshell dropped by their mother. Albert hastily stood up.

“More like… wrap it in more delicate terms…”

“It’s faster to get straight to the point. I’ve decided to welcome him as the son-in-law of the Rosemary Marquis family. Both of you will marry him. Have at least three or more children.”

“Mother… Are you really okay with this?”

Primula, who asked timidly, was met with a question. Viola’s mouth fell open, and her face froze in amazement.

“Welcoming Rest-sama as a son-in-law… That, I’m happy about. But, is it really okay for sister and me to accept him so easily…?”

Eilish’s proposal was actually what she desired. Primula had decided to marry Rest, and she expected her sister would do the same. That’s why it felt too convenient, and she found herself doubting.

“Don’t worry; there’s no ulterior motive. I just intend to integrate his talents into the Rosemary Marquis family. Originally, I planned for Viola to take a husband, inherit the house, and have Primula marry into another family to make connections. However… if we find such a prodigy, the situation changes. Rather than forming connections outside, having children who inherit his blood will contribute to the prosperity of the Rosemary Marquis family… and this country.”

“Mother… You seem to be quite fond of Rest-sama.”

“If you exchange fists, you can understand most things.”

Eilish shrugged.

“Once, my mother fought against a magician known as the ‘Celestial Emperor,’ the chairman of the ‘Wise Men’s Council’ and the world’s strongest magician. Rest-san still has noticeable areas of immaturity and inexperience, but I felt something in him that resonates with that Emperor.”

“Ten-tei…”

“If we can incorporate a magician with qualities equal to him, it’s a bargain to have both my daughters as wives. Even if you were to resist and cry, I would have tied you up and offered you to him.”

“…………Hey.”

Albert frowned at Eilish’s statement, unsure if it was a joke or serious.

“We were lucky it didn’t come to that. If both of you like him, it’s settled. As soon as the entrance exam for the Royal Academy is over, you three will be engaged. Then, after graduation, you’ll marry. Let’s start making children right away.”

Eilish continued with the conversation on her own, pointing her finger sharply at the sisters.

“I don’t mind premarital sex, but be mindful of contraception. Children born before marriage won’t be recognized for inheritance rights, causing unnecessary trouble.”

“…I won’t allow premarital sex.”

The mother’s easygoing attitude and the father’s muttered resentment clashed. As the conversation progressed to that point, Viola, who had been dazed until now, finally spoke up.

“I-Is it okay? Can we really marry him together…?”

“That’s what I explained.”

“Then… after graduation, I can always be with Rest and Primula?”

“Nee san…”

“I’m so happy…!”

Viola smiled like a blooming rose and hugged her sister. Primula, also drawn in, smiled and gently stroked her sister’s back.

Even though they were close twin sisters, they wouldn’t be together forever. Eventually, they would choose separate paths and go their separate ways. However, by having a man named Rest between them, they could walk through life together. It was as joyful as being able to marry the man they loved.

“Primula…!”

“Nee san…!”

The emotional sisters embraced each other with tearful smiles. Albert, who had been displeased about losing his daughters, sighed and dropped his shoulders at the sight of the two saying “I can’t help it”

The discussion room was filled with a warm and happy atmosphere.

“Ah… I forgot to mention something.”

However, Eilish, as if suddenly remembering, uttered words that shattered the peaceful atmosphere.

“He will impregnate several other women as well. Pick suitable girls from branch families or vassal houses… and in some cases, gather mistresses from friendly families. Make sure to get along well with them too.”

“…………!”

Despite everything being settled amicably, her statement ruined everything. Angry voices between parent and child echoed from the discussion room, and the heated argument continued until late into the night.
