Chapter 284: Development, Once Again

The next day.

In the sitting room of the Marquis Rosemary’s mansion, Rest and the four young women had gathered for a meeting about the future.

Although Rest had enjoyed a fun date up until the day before, he couldn’t just continue playing around forever.

A noble’s true duty was managing their territory. It was about time to begin serious development of his land.

“We’ve already gathered the materials and manpower needed for development. Prince Andrew’s interference caused some delays, though.”

Primula explained.

“Of course, we’ll help too, Rest!”

Viola declared.

“I’m with you as well—just relax and leave it to us!”

Yuri added enthusiastically.

The plan was to finally begin development on Rest’s newly granted domain—the Clover territory.

The first step: building a town to serve as the territory’s central hub. The Marquis Rosemary’s scouting team had already surveyed possible locations for the construction.

“I have my own duties, so I won’t be able to help directly… but if anything comes up, please don’t hesitate to ask.”

Celestine said, sounding slightly apologetic.

Though she was already unofficially engaged to Rest, Celestine wasn’t yet a formal member of the Clover family, so her role would remain more that of an outside supporter.

“As for the potential construction sites, Father selected three. Each location is large enough to support a town, and all have access to water.”

Primula continued, spreading a map out on the table.

“Rest-sama’s domain lies on the northern side of the Sabnock Plains, not far from the Rosemary territory. The three candidate sites are to the north, west, and south.”

Primula marked the three spots on the map.

“The northern site is closest to the Rosemary territory, so it’s easy for us to send materials and people. The western site is nearest to the royal capital—better for long-term development. The southern site doesn’t have any particular advantage, but it is close to Prince Andrew’s territory, so it could be good for fostering relations.”

She looked up and met Rest’s eyes.

“Rest-sama, which of the three should we choose for our base?”

“The north, no question about it.”

Rest replied without hesitation. It was an easy choice—no need to ponder it.

“Being close to the Rosemary territory is obviously the best. We’ll be able to support each other if anything happens. Plus, Viola and Primula will have an easier time visiting home.”

“…Yes, that’s true. Thank you.”

“Thank you so much… I’m happy.”

Touched by Rest’s consideration, Viola and Primula blushed with joy.

As the three of them gazed at each other, lost in their own little world, Celestine cleared her throat with a small cough.

“Ahem… Please continue the explanation.”

“Oh, yes. My apologies.”

Primula, regaining her composure, continued.

“Now then, assuming we’ll be building the Clover County’s capital at the northern location… there’s one problem.”

“A problem?”

“Yes. A monster nest has been confirmed in that area. Before we can start construction, we’ll need to clear them out.”

“Ah, I see. That’s straightforward enough.”

After all, the place was originally a dangerous frontier. Places where humans could live comfortably were often just as attractive to monsters.

It made perfect sense that the best site would also have a monster nest.

“So basically, we just need to defeat the monsters. That’s way easier than planning a date.”

Monster hunting was one of Rest’s specialties.

Unlike complicated politics or social maneuvering, this was a simple, direct task—just the way he liked it.

“I’m coming too! I’ll show you I’m not just some helpless noble girl!”

Viola said with determination.

“Me too… It’s finally time to put all that magic we studied at the academy to use.”

Primula added.

Both of them were fired up.

Beside them, Yuri was grinning and throwing a few playful shadow punches.

“Yeah… Just don’t push yourselves too hard, okay…?”

Even though the three beautiful girls were clearly motivated, Rest couldn’t help but feel a little uneasy.
