Chapter 226: The Second Cattleya Marquisate Uprising, Part II

“Guh…!”

The Marquis of Catreya hastily evaded the incoming punch. It was a sharp, unwavering strike—clear proof that Yuri fully intended to hit her father.

“Wait! Yuri!”

“I won’t wait!”

“Guh…!”

Yuri struck the Marquis in the side with her other fist.

Though her hands were small, and her weight was light, her punches carried an intensity and sharpness far beyond what her frame would suggest.

(So this is the power of the Oni Disease…!)

The Marquis braced himself with sheer willpower and physical fortitude, enduring the blow.

If it had been any ordinary warrior or martial artist, that single strike would have knocked them unconscious.

“What’s wrong, Father? Do you plan to just stand there and take it without a fight?”

“You little…!”

The Marquis’s fighting instincts ignited.

If he backed down after being provoked this far, it would be disgraceful—not only as a father but also as a warrior.

(I won’t kill her, but… I’ll make sure she’s unable to move for a while!)

“Hah!”

The Marquis launched a powerful body blow toward Yuri. She quickly raised her hands to block it.

“Ungh…!”

Despite her efforts, she couldn’t fully absorb the blow’s force and was sent flying backward. Her body slammed into one of the gravestones in the cemetery.

“As expected of the man known as the strongest warrior in the kingdom… That was quite the strike.”

“Yuri, enough of this nonsense!”

“There’s no reason to back down now. I’m not beaten yet.”

Yuri shook her arms out casually.

Despite taking the full brunt of the Marquis’s blow, she showed no signs of injury—no bruises or swelling.

Her body was incredibly resilient. In terms of raw physical durability, she might even surpass her father.

“A true oni… Truly a troublesome foe.”

The Marquis muttered as he took a deep breath, realizing it wouldn’t be possible to subdue her without injury.

The oni, a subhuman race, were known for their immense physical prowess, far surpassing human limits. Though they couldn’t use magic, their sheer strength made them formidable opponents. The Marquis, who had clashed with them countless times in the northern forests, knew this all too well.

“Here I come, Father!”

Yuri kicked off the ground and lunged at the Marquis.

Her fists flew—one after another, in rapid succession. A rain of punches descended upon the Marquis.

“Ungh…!”

The Marquis skillfully deflected and dodged each strike with minimal movement, countering with precise, calculated blows.

“Hah!”

“Guh…!”

Amid the relentless barrage, the Marquis landed a sharp counterpunch to Yuri’s abdomen.

This time, she was sent flying with even greater force, bouncing across the ground multiple times.

“Ooooooooohhhhhh!”

But the Marquis didn’t let up.

He knew Yuri wouldn’t be stopped so easily. He dashed after her, grabbed her arm mid-flight, and hurled her again.

“Take this!”

“Ugh…!”

Yuri tried to retaliate, but the Marquis tilted his head just in time to dodge her punch. He then used the momentum to throw her with all his strength.

“Waaaaaaahhh…!”

Yuri’s body smashed through several gravestones, toppling them as she went. She finally came to a stop, buried under the debris.

“Hah… hah…”

The Marquis stood still, his expression strained, before rushing to his daughter’s side.

“Yuri, are you alright?!”

It might have sounded foolish to ask after throwing her like that, but the Marquis had no hatred for his daughter.

Though his methods were harsh, his love for her was genuine, and his concern was real.

“Get up! Yuri…!”

As he tried to dig her out from the rubble, the debris suddenly flew straight at him.

“Hah!”

“Guh?!”

The Marquis barely managed to catch the flying remnants of gravestones.

“Gotcha!”

Yuri leaped forward, blood dripping from her forehead, as she pulled back her right fist.

Another punch is coming—realizing this, the Marquis Catreya instinctively raised both hands to brace for impact.

“Hiyaah!”

“Guh…!?”

But… the expected blow never came.

Instead, a strike from an unexpected direction sent the Marquis flying sideways.

Now it was his turn to tumble across the ground.

He crashed through several gravestones, bounced off the ground, and finally collapsed onto the stone pavement.

“What… was that…?”

As he tried to speak, the Marquis felt a sharp, throbbing pain in his side.

“Ah, good. It worked.”

Yuri said, walking toward her fallen father.

The smile on her beautifully composed face resembled that of a mischievous child who had just successfully pulled off a prank.

“I was worried it might not work! It pays to have well-trained legs, doesn’t it?”

“L-Legs…? You mean… your legs?”

It was then the Marquis realized what had happened.

Yuri had feigned a punch, making him expect a blow to his upper body, only to deliver a kick as a surprise attack.

Come to think of it… since the fight had begun, Yuri hadn’t used a single kick—deliberately keeping her father’s focus away from her lower body.

“It was my ultimate kick. Not even you, Father, can stand up after that! As promised, I’ll be leaving the territory!”

“W-Wait…!”

“See you later!”

Yuri waved energetically, smiling from ear to ear, as she turned to leave the fallen Marquis.

“Ah…”

Seeing her smile, the Marquis paused in his attempt to get up.

To be honest, he wasn’t completely defeated yet.

His side ached, and it was likely that a few ribs were broken.

But… he could still fight. If he pushed himself, he could stand and continue the battle.

“Ah…”

However, the sight of Yuri’s smiling face made him lose the will to fight.

(When did it happen…? When did she stop smiling like that?)

He thought back to the days when he had kept her locked away in the mansion, sheltering her in an overprotective bubble.

In the midst of that stifling life, her bright, cheerful expression had slowly disappeared.

“…My wife, was I wrong…?”

The pain in his chest hurt far more than the injury to his side.

Lying on the ground, completely drained, the Marquis watched his daughter’s back as she skipped away, her steps light and carefree.
