Just another Isekai Lover~

Chapter 10: The Most Hated Person in the City

“What kind of rumors are there about me?”

“Uh, well…”

When I asked this, Lilina averted her gaze awkwardly.

Just from her reaction, I could somewhat guess what was going on and I couldn’t help but look down a bit.

It seems the Lloyd’s bad reputation wasn’t just limited to the guild but had spread throughout the entire city.

Now that I think about it, there were scenes in the anime where Lloyd made outrageous demands in the market and caused trouble in stores.

No wonder bad rumors spread.

“Haah…”

Right, it’s the villain reincarnation trope.

When I sighed deeply, Lilina flinched slightly.

When I glanced at her, her face was tense.

It seemed I had scared her.

She really didn’t need to be that shocked just from a sigh. Though, considering Lloyd’s character in the story, it might be unusual if she wasn’t scared.

---

“Hmm? This potion bottle…”

As I was lost in thought, Lilina noticed the empty potion bottles scattered around.

There were about a dozen or so bottles.

“Hmm? Oh, don’t worry about it. I’ll clean up the trash.”

“Trash? Wait, are all these empty bottles?! Could it be… these were all for me?”

“Well, yes.”

I didn’t quite understand what she was so surprised about, but Lilina stared at the empty bottles with wide eyes.

After a moment of being stunned, Lilina looked back at me as if she had just realized something.

“W-why did you use so many potions for me?”

“Why? If I hadn’t, you’d be dead.”

“That’s not what I meant! How much did all these potions cost? They must have been quite expensive, right?”

“Well, yes, they were.”

I had spent a considerable amount of money on potions by selling off unnecessary accessories.

Thanks to that, Lilina’s injuries, which had been severe, seemed to have healed remarkably well.

It’s clear that potions are quite effective.

I had just bought whatever was available at the shop in a hurry, but it seems it worked out well in the end.

Though, given her condition, it’s still uncertain if she’s fully healed internally.

As I nodded, impressed by the potions' healing effects, Lilina suddenly bowed deeply.

“I’m really sorry. I’m grateful for your help, but… I don’t have money to repay you.”

“Hm? Oh, don’t worry about that. I knew that.”

“Huh?”

I knew from watching the anime that Lilina’s family wasn’t wealthy.

So I tried to reassure her that I wasn’t expecting any repayment, but Lilina looked puzzled.

Oh right, knowing about Lilina’s family situation might seem odd.

After a moment of thought, I decided to give a more plausible excuse.

“It’s strange for someone who isn’t an adventurer to enter a forest with monsters. If you had money, you should have just asked the guild for help.”

“Oh? I see… That makes sense.”

Lilina seemed to understand and nodded, looking at me intently.

…Why is she staring at me like that?

After being stared at seriously for a while, Lilina gave a small nod.

“Well, I can’t offer much as thanks, but if you’d like, you’re welcome to come to my house. I can at least offer you some cookies.”

“Cookies? Oh, those cookies!”

I tilted my head slightly and then, recalling something, jumped up with enthusiasm.

There was a scene where the protagonist, Kane, was invited to Lilina’s house after going with her to get the secret medicine, and he received cookies as a token of gratitude.

I remember they were made with wild strawberries or some other fruit and looked incredibly delicious.

I can actually experience a pilgrimage to a location from another world!

“Let’s go, let’s go! I’ve always wanted to try those cookies!”

“W-well, it’s not really something to be so excited about… But, hee hee…”

“Hm? What’s wrong?”

Seeing me so excited, Lilina looked a bit confused before letting out a laugh.

Was there something odd about my reaction?

As I tilted my head in thought, Lilina hurriedly tried to hide her smile.

“N-nothing, let’s go.”

“Right. I’ll leave the way to you.”

And so, as a token of gratitude for saving the heroine Lilina, I ended up visiting her family home to try those cookies.
