Chapter 391: The Vacuum Cleaner Magic Tool

I could have used my skill to dry it immediately, but spending time like this with Fabienne is important too. Of course, so is taking a break. Together, we headed to the salon closest to the laboratory.

In the meantime, Nero had already arranged for tea. He truly is an excellent butler. I can’t even imagine life without him anymore.

When we arrived at the salon, Nero immediately prepared tea. His tea-making skills have improved considerably. He seems to be studying it every day. Apparently, he has been teaching Lilie as well. I once saw him taking Lilie to the dining hall at night.

“I’ll prepare that right away.”

Saying that, Nero left the salon. As if switching places with him, Mira entered. How did she sniff out the dried fruit? She was already bouncing with excitement. Didn’t she already eat with her mother this morning?

“Oh my, Mira-chan, do you want some too?”

“Kyuu!”

“Mira, have you gained weight?”

“Kyuu?”

I gently patted Mira’s belly. Hmm, she still seems fine for now. But I’m getting nervous that if she keeps eating sweets, her belly will start sticking out. Mira didn’t seem to care at all and happily accepted the dried fruit from Fabienne.

“If this test goes well, I’ll be able to come here even when it rains.”

“That’s right. Being able to move around even in the rain would be quite useful.”

Until now, rainy days were essentially Fabienne’s days off. Of course, I can use magic to keep the rain away. But I’ve never seen anyone else use it. It’s probably not a common spell.

However, with the development of this water-repellent agent, I can now pick up Fabienne even on rainy days. That’s an unexpected but welcome benefit. Mira kept tugging at my sleeve insistently. It seemed like she wanted to take me somewhere. Maybe she didn’t come here just for a snack? As I tilted my head in confusion, Fabienne seemed to notice something. She placed her cup on the table.

“Could it be that she wants you to take her to Rosalia?”

“Kyuu, kyuu!”

It seems that way. Mira is raising her hand as if to say she got the answer right. I see, she came to call me. I don’t know why she asked Mira instead of a servant, but for now, I decided to head to the workshop.

Mira walked ahead as if leading the way, swaying her hips cheerfully. Fabienne and I watched the scene with amused smiles.

When we arrived at the workshop, we could hear a whirring sound coming from inside. Could it be finished?

“Rosalia, how’s the new magic tool coming along?”

“Oniisan, you came!”

Rosalia stopped operating the magic tool and came over to me. With smooth, practiced movements, she scooped up Mira in her arms. She was quite used to handling her by now.

Perhaps as a result of trial and error, various parts were scattered across the table, but not a single piece of trash was on the floor.

“Looks like the vacuum magic tool is complete.”

“As expected of you, Oniisan. You figured it out?”

“Now that you mention it, the floor is remarkably clean.”

At Fabienne’s words, Rosalia puffed out her chest proudly. Mira, still being held, mimicked her and puffed out her chest as well. Lilie brought over the magic tool. Just as we had discussed yesterday, it had been slimmed down into a more streamlined shape.

“When I made it thinner, as you suggested, the suction power became much stronger. I also managed to channel that power directly into the dust collection bag.”

At my question, Rosalia opened a compartment in the magic tool. It seemed that the dust bag could be inserted and removed from there. The bag she showed me contained various sizes of debris, and dust had accumulated along its sides.

“Larger debris can be emptied by turning it upside down, but I think we need a special method to remove the dust.”

“It would be too expensive to use disposable bags. In that case, it might be a good idea to make a tool to shake off the dust. Let’s use Mira’s brush as a reference.”

“Kyuu!”

“No, no, we’re not actually going to use Mira’s brush.”

Mira’s eyes widened in shock, probably thinking her favorite brush was about to be taken. Looks like she understands words. Though she still can’t speak, I wonder if she ever will. In the game, she could talk, but who knows what will happen here.

In the end, we crafted a wooden tool with thin iron rods attached at one-centimeter intervals, using it as a makeshift brush. This tool transferred the dust layer to another bag. Thanks to Rosalia’s skillful design, the dust layer formed neatly along the side, making the process efficient and less tedious.

“That completes it. Well done, Rosalia. Now we’ll have the servants test it and find any areas for improvement.”

“Understood! I’ll ask them right away!”

Rosalia and Lilie dashed out of the room, of course, still holding Mira in their arms.
