Chapter 363: The Greenhouse Design

The master builders nodded in agreement. They must know that I make magical tools. After all, when we built the shower room, I also installed some magical tools.

For heating the greenhouse, we also decided to install pipes underground. The soil would be cold otherwise. The winter in Count Heine’s territory is harsh. When I mentioned wanting to make the entire greenhouse glass, my older brother Alex was exasperated.

“How do you come up with these ideas so easily? Making it rain from the ceiling, for example… that’s not something people normally think of.”

“Well, it’s normal to grow plants outside, so you probably wouldn’t think of it.”

“Just like Julius. I knew you had developed the shower magical tools, but I didn’t realize you’d think of something like this.”

On the other hand, the carpenters looked excited. They were eager to see what kind of magical tools would be revealed next.

Before long, Father arrived. As soon as he sat down, Alex-niisan briefly summarized the discussions we had so far. Father seemed busy, as expected from a lord.

“I see, a fully glass greenhouse… Can you really do that, Julius?”

Alex-niisan gave a wry smile. It seems like he hadn’t thought that far. Should we sell just the reinforced glass? Since it’s neither a magical tool nor a potion, I’m not sure how to handle it. Maybe we’ll sell it as just a material.

After that, there were a few questions from Father, and then it was finished. He didn’t comment on the magical tools to be installed in the greenhouse. Maybe he has already given up on it. I really feel sorry for Father.

The master builders will finalize the details of the building design once they return to the workshop. They’ll bring the blueprints as soon as possible. I need to prepare on my end as well. Whether or not we can use reinforced glass will significantly change the master builders’ design.

By the time I returned to the mansion, it was almost noon. I had gotten so caught up in discussing the greenhouse design that I had forgotten the time. I needed to hurry over to Fabienne’s.

As I approached the alchemy room, a delightful fragrance wafted out. It seemed like a mixture of various flowers, but it wasn’t unpleasant at all.

“Welcome back, Julius.”

“Hi, Fabienne.”

The way we greeted each other felt almost like a married couple, and it wasn’t just me who thought so. Fabienne’s face turned red, too. I probably looked just as flustered. To hide my own awkwardness, I quickly tried to act like nothing was unusual.

“It looks like the sunscreen cream is finished.”

“Yes, it’s ready. Here you go.”

Fabienne showed me the sunscreen cream, which was in a ceramic jar decorated with flower patterns. It was clear from just looking at it that the packaging was quite refined, a luxurious item.

This is impressive. There’s no way I could have come up with something like this. In fact, I was planning to use a plain container as usual.

From now on, when making magical potions for nobles, I should definitely leave it to Fabienne. That way, I can take care of the potions for commoners.

“This is great. I’m sure my sisters-in-law will be happy with this.”

I confirmed the appraisal, and everything was perfect. In fact, it seemed that the added fragrance had enhanced the effectiveness, improving the quality even further.

I see now that adding extra value can also improve the quality of a product. This was a good lesson.

“I’ll send it over right away. But before that, I need to check the effect of the cold cookies. If everything looks good, I’ll send those together as well.”

“That’s true. It’s said to be quite hot in the capital. My sisters-in-law looked a little down when they talked about it.”

I haven’t experienced it myself, but it must be pretty hot. However, it seems like the winters aren’t too harsh there, making it a more comfortable place to live.
