Chapter 244: I’m Back! To the capital

　I sat down on the couch, hobbling on numb legs, and Nero immediately brought me a drink.

“Julius-sama, please.”

“Thank you. Nero, he didn’t get angry with you?　Did he say something about me getting out of the carriage without permission?”

“No, he didn’t say anything. Thank you for your concern.”

　Nero bowed deeply. Somehow, during this journey, I feel that his loyalty to me has increased even more. If something like this happens again, I have a feeling that Nero will come along with me.

　Nero has Lelie, so he needs to take better care of himself. I can’t speak for other people when I say that, because I have a family too.

　My brother is smiling bitterly. Apparently, he is not trying to flatter me, but he really means it.

　We were invited to the mayor’s house for dinner that night. The mayor must have been concerned about the unseasonal snowfall. A dish of wild rabbit meat was served for the meal. It was very tasty and had just the right amount of chewiness.

“I told them about the snow wolf. He’s going to tell the townspeople to be on the lookout.”

“I guess so. Cain, try not to jump out like you did this time, okay?”

“Of course, of course. I understand.”

　Brother Cain with a pale face and a strained smile on his face. My sister-in-law Meeka, perhaps thinking that this was a bad topic, decided to remain silent. Clever. I’m a little scared that sister-in-sister-in-law Daniela looks like she wants to say something. Don’t tell me you’re thinking of inciting me when the monsters appear, are you?

“I’ll have the knights take the lead. Julius seems to be able to detect monsters, so I want him to stay in the middle of the formation and be on the lookout for them.”

“Alex-sama, the territorial capital is in sight!”

　The knight in the lead called out to us. As we passed through the forest, the view opened up and the capital came into view. Although I had only been away from the city for about three months, I felt somehow nostalgic.

“We’ve finally arrived at the capital. This is the first time that so many things have happened on the way. Usually we don’t even encounter monsters.”

　My brother looks at me with a smile. If you look at me like that, it’s like I’ve called up some sort of flag. I want to express my regret here. It’s not my fault. It just happened to be bad luck.

　Sister-in-law Daniela looks at me and smiles. If possible, I hope she will forget about it soon. I only hope that when she returns to the royal palace, it won’t be talked about as a tale of my heroism.

　The carriage moved forward at a brisk pace and finally entered the capital. The city looked the same as usual, but there was a little bit of snow left in the shaded areas.

“Brother Alex, it looks like there’s some snow on the ground.”

“It seems so. I sent a letter to father ahead of time, so he should have been able to deal with the abnormal situation.”

　But still, aren’t most of ……  father’s accomplishments tied to me?　If sister-in-law Daniela finds out about that, she may suffocate me to death on those ample breasts this time.

　The carriage carrying me, which was secretly trembling at this fact, comes to a halt. When the door was opened, Rosalia and Mira, who was being held by Rosalia, were waiting there.

“Brother Julius, welcome home!”

Cue!”

　I received an enthusiastic welcome from both of them. Territorial Capital, I have returned!
