Just another Isekai Lover~
Chapter 199: Summoning from the Divine Realm
It had been a leisurely week since then. Perhaps it was the most relaxed time we’ve had so far. Everyone seemed to be more at ease, maybe because we were relieved by the fact that we could return to Japan whenever we wanted.
“With the current situation in Japan, it seems like everything is fine. Though I’m curious about the Two Pillar Gods, it’s not something that needs immediate attention. It’s like playing on Normal mode, and we’re pretty strong, almost like a New Game+ state.
In the midst of this situation, it was the day of the Goddess’s first landing. Besides myself, Tsubaki, one of the apostles, accompanied her. We were currently taking a breather while sipping tea.
The purpose of this visit to Japan was twofold.
First and foremost, it was to bring the Goddess to Japan. It was necessary for the Goddess herself to go to the local area as a step towards deification in Japan. However, it seems she doesn’t need to reside in Japan permanently.
The other reason was to understand the Illusion Barrier and the reason for the appearance of monsters. Additionally, if possible, we wanted to understand whether the Sun and Moon Goddesses were involved.
What is the barrier surrounding Japan for? Why do monsters appear? Is there any connection with the Goddesses and the Student Village Chief? We wanted to know more accurately and in more detail.
There are other things to consider, but we can check them later.
“Nanasia-sama, has there been any change since coming to Japan?”
“No, not at the moment.”
“I see.”
“But I’m thrilled! I never expected to come here so soon…”
Our homeland is truly a sacred place for the Goddess. She looked ecstatic as she reached her long-awaited destination.
“So… what are you going to do? There’s a lot of preparation needed to make the Goddess’s presence known.”
“Oh, take your time, it’s not a problem. Keisuke-san, please do as you wish. I won’t make any requests.”
Perhaps it’s just a matter of time. She remained calm and composed, showing no signs of haste.
(Unlike the other world, there are countless ways to spread the word here. Through social media, video sites… If done right, it could spread quickly.)
As I was thinking about this, the previously contented Goddess suddenly froze, her expression tensing up. She didn’t respond to our calls, leaving us anxious. We could do nothing but watch in silence.
—
“I’m sorry for the wait. I received a sudden telepathic message and had to attend to it.”
We must have waited for more than five minutes. The rebooted Goddess finally spoke up. It seems she was having a telepathic conversation with the Japanese gods.
“I’m going to meet the Japanese gods now. It shouldn’t take too long… Is it alright if we split up for a while?”
“Of course. We have some verification and construction work to do, so please take your time.”
“Thank you. I’ll also ask about the barrier and the monsters.”
“Please do.”
By the way, this visit is not at all ominous. The main purpose is to celebrate the promotion. On the side, they also seem to want to know about the Goddess’s unauthorized entry.
“Then I’ll see you later—”
With that, the Goddess disappeared in an instant. By the time she returns, I’m sure many issues will be resolved.
“Now then. Shall we get started?”
“First, we need to decide where our base will be.”
“Yeah, let’s look for a place in a sparsely populated area if possible.”
Tsubaki and I, who remained behind, decided to start looking for land right away.
Even if we’re going to create a village in Japan, we need a reasonably large piece of land. Our home garden is too small, and we can’t just occupy our neighbors’ land. Besides, we want to avoid densely populated areas. It would only attract onlookers, and future expansion would be limited.
We tried looking through proper channels first, but we quickly gave up due to legal issues and financial constraints. In modern Japan, everything requires prerequisites. It’s not just about expanding the land.
“This is tough. We’re completely stumped.”
“The scale is a problem, and so is the cost.”
“How about just borrowing some remote mountainous area? But then again, we need at least basic infrastructure.”
A place with a small population, secure lifelines, and good roads. Such a place was hard to find. It was difficult to find such a place, regardless of whether it was legal or illegal.
“How about Green Park? It’s illegally occupied anyway.”
“I just found out that God exists, and I’m scared that he’s going to punish me for it. ……”
“You can’t turn your back on them.”
“I’m really not sure if it’s safe.”
As we were discussing, the doorbell rang. It seems the renovation workers have arrived. We decided to put the land issue on hold for now and guide them to the bathroom. The construction went smoothly, taking about three hours in total. During that time, we set up a tent in the garden and rearranged the teleportation circle.
“Keisuke-san, what about lunch? The Goddess hasn’t returned yet.”
“Hmm, let’s just eat first. We don’t know when she’ll be back.”
After all, for the Goddess, eating is not a necessity. It’s about absorbing divine power contained in the food. She seems to have a normal sense of taste, but she doesn’t feel hunger or fullness. Since we have some errands to run later, we decided to eat while waiting.
“Anyway, it’s nice that the bath is all fixed up.”
“Oh, about the bath. How about trying it later? I’ve already filled it with hot water.”
“That sounds good. Let’s take a bath together later.”
“…Well, it’s an enticing suggestion, but I actually have a commitment after this.”
“A commitment, you say?”
“I have to go to the bank. I told them I’d go today.”
“I see. Then, another time perhaps?”
(Wait, did I mess up the options? I thought she was joking because she looked serious…)
Tsubaki was unusually proactive. What was that about? The old man left, feeling deeply regretful… and went out alone.
—
On the way back from the bank, after stopping by the drive-thru, I returned home and heard cheerful voices from inside.
However, it had been over an hour since then. At least the bath event must be over by now. As expected, Nanasia-sama and Tsubaki were relaxing in the living room.
“Nanasha-sama, have you already had lunch? If not, I can prepare something.”
“No, nothing yet.”
“I did bring this just in case, but if you prefer the village’s cuisine—”
“Oh, could this logo be…”
When I took out the burger set I had bought earlier, the Goddess looked surprised and eagerly began eating, showing great interest. It was probably information she got from Japanese gods. While the food is nice and all, did she ask about the crucial things? I started to feel a bit anxious, but for now, I quietly waited until she finished eating.
“Ahh, that was delicious.”
“Did you enjoy it?”
“I understand why it’s popular among Japanese gods. It’s still a bit subtle for me though.”
When the Goddess said “subtle,” she probably wasn’t referring to the taste but rather to the divine power. She’s still saying she’s not used to it, so maybe it’ll become stronger as she becomes more recognized. How are the Japanese gods getting these? That question remains unanswered, but let’s put that aside for now and get to the main topic.
“So, what about the monsters and the barrier?”
“Well, it’s become quite troublesome.”
“Troublesome, you say…?”
“For the people living in my world, yes. First of all—”
(Problem for the people living in the other world?)
