Chapter 87: The Two Recommended

All I can think is that he looks weak, but according to Donnie, this Joel is a genius who broke the record as the youngest member ever to join the Kingdom’s Knights.

However, because he lacks confidence, it seems like he’s not standing out at the moment.

It seems like he was entered into this tournament to give him a chance to spark something… but with the hero participating, even though it’s a private tournament, the competition is top-tier.

I’m worried that if he loses in the first round, it will further destroy his confidence.

“Please, have confidence. Just relax and do your best.”

“…Yes! Thank you so much for speaking to me… I’m really grateful—”

“Hey, Joel! You better win! I want that prize from Sato no matter what! It’s all on you!”

“Ugh, Donnie! I don’t have any confidence…”

Just as things were starting to feel good, Donnie barged into the conversation, causing Joel to look down again.

I shot Donnie a light glare, but he just looked confused.

I’m starting to think Donnie might be the reason for Joel’s lack of confidence… but there’s no point in overthinking it. I’ll quietly tell Donnie to be more careful later, and for now, I decided to part ways with them and go talk to the person Sid recommended.

Right now, Sid and Rozzo are talking to the person who came recommended for this event.

She’s shorter, and I believe she’s probably a dwarf like Rozzo and the others.

“Rozzo, Sid, is this the person who will be participating?”

“Yeah, that’s right. She’s filling in for me—our little sister, Brittany.”

“You must be Sato? I’ve heard my brothers are in your care. I’m counting on you for this tournament.”

At first glance, I could tell she was a dwarf, but I never expected her to be Rozzo and Sid’s younger sister.

She looks to be in her early 30s, and above all, she’s a beauty, completely different from her brothers.

Her speech does have a hint of Rozzo and Sid in it, but it’s still hard to believe she’s their sister.

“You have a sister, huh? I’m surprised, you don’t really look alike.”

“Haha, I take after our mom, and my brothers take after our dad. If I had taken after our dad, I think I would have looked like him and… shuddered at the thought.”

“Hey! That’s rude to dad and us! …Well, I do think I have a pretty cool face though.”

“Enough about faces. Anyway, Brittany is an adventurer, so you can expect her to be good in a fight. …Though I didn’t know the heroes were joining, so I’m not sure if she can win.”

“Even if they’re heroes, I’ll beat them. They may be strong, but they’re still like little kids. I’ll show them the strength of a senior!”

Brittany slapped her chest proudly.

Despite her small frame, she has a pretty big chest, which makes it a bit awkward to look at… but she’s definitely dependable.

Since she’s Rozzo and Sid’s sister, she’s undoubtedly skilled.

Actually, now that I think about it, I’m more worried about Rozzo than anything.

“I don’t doubt Brittany’s abilities, but I’m really worried about Rozzo. I invited you here, but as a blacksmith, his age might make things tough for him, don’t you think?”

“Hey, Sato! Don’t underestimate me! I fight often just to check the swords I forge. If there are ores or materials I need, I’ll even go gather them myself!”

“Is that so? Sorry, I just assumed you couldn’t fight.”

“Look at these thick arms! Unlike Sid, I’m not all show muscles!”

“Hey! I don’t have show muscles! These are properly trained muscles from the field!”

For some reason, a brotherly argument about muscles broke out, but anyway, it looks like Rozzo can fight.

His abilities are still unknown, but it seems he’s been fighting recently, so maybe I can hope for something.

I’d like to talk to the other participants, but I’ll do that after the tournament ends.

Even though it’s a tournament, there are 16 participants, so that’s 8 matches in the first round.

Then 4 in the second, 2 in the semifinals, and 1 in the final, making a total of 15 matches.

If Donny joins as an exhibition match, there’ll be 16, so we want to move things along smoothly.

With that in mind, I decided to call the participants for the first match of the first round.
