Just another Isekai Lover~

Chapter 84: The Event

It had been about a month since we built the protective fence.

The food storage facility that Sid had promised to construct was now complete, and as a bonus, he had even built a sake brewery.

The brewery was probably just Sid and Rozzo’s personal indulgence, but truth be told, I didn’t dislike alcohol either.

Since coming to this world, I had naturally been in a state of abstinence, but back when I was working, I drank quite a bit.

That said, my drinking was more about dulling the pain of unpleasant things rather than truly enjoying it, so looking back now, I’m not even sure if I actually liked alcohol.

I could drink if I wanted to, and I was curious about what kind of alcohol existed in this world.

Alcohol is probably universal, regardless of the world.

…Anyway, putting the topic of alcohol aside, the food storage facility was truly impressive.

Thanks to Rozzo’s mysterious technique, we could freely control the temperature inside.

By manipulating something that looked like a crystal, the room temperature could be adjusted, but beyond the fact that it was powered by magic, I had no idea how it worked.

Its functionality far surpassed that of any food storage facility I had seen in common eateries, making it a completely wasted luxury at the moment.

I had assumed Japanese technology was superior, but the fantasy elements of this world kept surprising me.

Apparently, since it runs on magic energy, there aren’t any electricity costs.

…Though, in exchange, it seems someone has to infuse it with magic every day to keep it running.

One day, I’d love to have something like a magic-powered generator, but since I’m no engineer, that might be difficult.

Those were the major changes that had taken place recently.

Aside from that, Velvet and Donnie had dropped by to visit, and Moji had been doing incredible work.

My NP had also been accumulating steadily, but just the other day, I spent around 5000 NP to expand the fields through a skill upgrade, leaving me pretty tight on resources.

Still, since both Sheila and I had been feeling idle, and expanding the fields was an absolute necessity, it couldn’t be helped.

That said, I was starting to crave a bit of luxury again.

I had been eating Japanese food every now and then, but ever since the Christmas party, I hadn’t indulged in anything extravagant.

I had also been cutting back on sweets, so maybe it was time to hold some sort of event.

Since I couldn’t make that decision alone, I decided to consult with Sheila.

“That sounds great! I’m all for it!”

“Huh? You’re okay with it that easily?”

“Of course! I’ve been dying to eat more of your desserts, Sato!”

As soon as I brought up the idea of an event, Sheila agreed without hesitation.

I had expected a little more reluctance, but considering her love for Japanese food, this reaction made perfect sense.

“In that case, let’s do it. By the way… are there any seasonal events around this time of year?”

In Japan, this was the season for things like cherry blossom viewing and the start of a new school year.

But there weren’t any cherry blossoms here, and it didn’t feel like a new beginning either.

“Hmm, nothing in particular… Oh! Though not in the capital, one of the three major cities in the Greylan Kingdom, Kirelakira, hosts the Royal Martial Arts Tournament. I actually considered participating a few times. It’s a pretty big event.”

“A martial arts tournament, huh… That sounds interesting. Maybe we should hold our own first-ever mock battle tournament.”

I had completely forgotten, but in Japan, sports festivals were held around this time of year too.

We had enough potential participants now, so it could turn into a pretty exciting competition.

“That sounds amazing! Just thinking about a mock battle tournament followed by an otherworldly cuisine party makes me grin!”

“I’m glad you’re on board. I’ll reach out to our acquaintances, then. Would about a month from now be a good time?”

“That sounds perfect. We can focus on farming to earn more NP while preparing for the tournament.”

“Alright, let’s aim to hold it in a month.”

And so, the decision was made to hold our first-ever mock battle tournament.

The people I planned to invite included Velvet, Ren and his group, Donnie, as well as the brothers Rozzo and Sid.

Lua and her group would probably join in, and aside from Crow, most of the tamed monsters would likely want to participate, so this would be much more than just a casual mock battle—it would be a full-fledged tournament.

Maybe we should have a prize for the winner to make it even more exciting.

As I pondered these details, I decided to focus on farming for the time being.
