Just another Isekai Lover~

Chapter 175: A New Companion

The day after the second mock battle tournament.

The banquet had been a great success, and even those who had only heard about the tournament and decided to join in on the spur of the moment seemed satisfied.

The sweets handed out to those who correctly guessed the winner were also well received. Surprisingly, very few people had predicted Mika would win, so there were a handful of people who went home with an armful of sweets.

Those who stayed until the very end this time will surely return next year, and I truly felt glad that we had put in all the preparations.

I originally came to the countryside to live a slow and quiet life, but seeing so many people smiling is an incredibly pleasant feeling.

Of course, I have no intention of sacrificing myself just to make others smile, but I do want to create good memories for as many people as possible. I resolved that from now on, we’ll never go without hosting events.

“Good morning, Sato-san. Fufu, you look very happy today.”

“Good morning, Sheila-san. Well, yesterday’s mock battle tournament was a big success. I feel really refreshed.”

“I feel the same. I may have lost in the tournament, but seeing so many people enjoy themselves made me feel wonderful.”

“I’m glad you feel the same way. Let’s keep planning fun events that many people can enjoy.”

“I’ll help with all my strength! Oh, by the way… someone new has come, wanting to move here. Will you accept them?”

A new immigrant?
Could it be another dragonkin from Mount Edelgius?

“Who is it? There are still vacant houses in the dragonkin settlement, so I think we can accept them.”

“They’re not a dragonkin. It’s someone who joined the tournament yesterday as a last-minute participant.”

“Eh? They just jumped into the tournament, and now they want to live here?”

“It seems so, if you’ll accept them.”

There’s no reason to refuse, of course I’ll accept them—but that’s some incredible spontaneity.

If it were Silva, I’d be even happier though…

“That immigrant… it’s not Silva-san, is it?”

“No. Silva-san disappeared right after the tournament ended. Since I fought against him, I wanted to talk more, but…”

“So it wasn’t him… I also wanted to talk, but it’s a shame he left so suddenly.”

He had said something like “I’ll stay and eat,” but it seems he left right after the finals ended.

There were so many things I wanted to ask. We don’t even know who Silva really is.

Considering his incredible skill, I thought Donnie-san might know him, but he didn’t.

An elderly man, with overwhelming strength, yet completely unknown. Just that fact alone is enough to spark all kinds of speculation.

“Maybe something urgent came up? He seemed to like it here, so I’m sure he’ll come back at some point to greet us.”

“I hope so… Honestly, I’m just a bit worried. But at the very least, I bet he’ll join next year’s tournament.”

“Yes, I think so too. He looked frustrated when he lost to Lime. He’ll surely want a rematch.”

“Then we can ask him all our questions then. Sheila-san, you’ll need your revenge match too, right?”

“Of course. Next time, I definitely won’t lose.”

Sheila’s eyes burned with determination—already fired up.

She may have lost completely, but with that kind of drive, I think she’ll really deliver next year.

“Anyway—we can’t just stand here chatting. We need to meet this new immigrant. Where are they now?”

“I think they’re at Rozzo’s place. Apparently, they have knowledge of inscriptions, so they’ll be helping him.”

“Inscriptions…? Well, I’ll hear the details directly. I’ll go greet them right away.”

“Yes, please do.”

I left my villa and headed for Rozzo’s home.

I don’t know exactly what inscriptions are, but the word itself sounds intriguing.

“Good morning, Rozzo-san. I heard the immigrant is working here?”

“Yeah! He’s here! A sculptor named Page! We can take him in, right?”

“Of course, that’s fine.”

“Thank you, Sato-san! I’m Page! Please take care of me!”

He must have participated in the tournament, but I don’t remember him. Probably one of the early-round dropouts.

Page looked surprisingly young, maybe mid-twenties.

“Nice to meet you too. Do you have a place to stay? There are empty houses in the dragonkin settlement.”

“No, I’ll let him stay with me until his house is built! The settlement’s a bit far from here.”

“I’ll be staying here then! Is that alright, Sato-san?”

“If Rozzo-san is fine with it, then I have no problem at all. Let’s work well together.”

“Yeah! Thank you!”

And so, the sculptor Page joined us as a new companion.

The village keeps growing larger, and with that, the number of things we can do keeps increasing.

I don’t know how big this village will eventually become, but I’ll do my best to grow it as much as possible—so that even more people can find joy here.
