Just another Isekai Lover~

Chapter 152: The Last Day

I’ve decided how to use my NP.

I’ll save buying goblins for tomorrow and now take some time to reflect on the past year.

“It was truly a turbulent year, wasn’t it? Thank you again for supporting me through it, Sheila.”

“Oh, not at all. I wouldn’t even say I was supporting you. It all started with meeting Lua, and then everyone, even Yato, came to help.”

“Looking back, it’s already been a year since we first met Lua? I always thought of her as one of the veterans, but I’m surprised it’s only been a year.”

“That’s true. Life here has been so fulfilling that it feels like time flies, and yet, each day is so rich that the year feels dense in its own way. It’s a weird feeling.”

I think it’s because things have been so intense that it feels like time moves fast.

We’ve met so many people, and I understand that feeling of time slipping by in a flash.

“I had planned to live a more slow-paced life, you know. But while trying to make things enjoyable for everyone, I found myself working nonstop. The goblin unit helped reduce the workload a lot, but I was still always busy.”

“Whether that’s good or bad, I’m not sure—but for me, it doesn’t feel like work at all. It’s more like playing, and I’m excited every day.”

“Same here, honestly. But I still want to make sure we can take proper breaks.”

It’s night and day compared to when I worked for a black company.

Back then, I’d constantly check the clock, praying time would move faster—only to find out that five minutes had passed instead of thirty. That despair still haunts me.

By contrast, here I keep wishing there was more time.

I’m truly grateful to be in this environment.

“Well, if we can get time off, that’d be wonderful. I’d like to visit Lanzole City again, and also go to the royal capital just for fun. Oh, and… I’d like to visit where Yato lives, too.”

“Yes, I want to go where Yato lives. It’s where a race connected to dragons lives, right? Just hearing that gives me so much excitement.”

“Yato said there’s nothing there, but I still want to see it at least once.”

“Me too. I’d love to meet Yato’s parents again. Let’s bring some souvenirs and make sure we go this year.”

“Yes, let’s definitely go!”

That’s one goal for the year.

With the new goblin unit to tame and Yato’s approval, it might happen pretty soon.

Just the phrase “Dragon’s Village” is enough to excite any fantasy lover—it’s a sight I’d like to see before I die.

I want to revisit Lanzole, and play in the royal capital again.

One way or another, I need to make time for a break.

“And the mock battle tournament was so exciting, wasn’t it?”

“Yeah, I was frustrated at the result, but it was still an incredibly fun memory.”

“I’m thinking of making it even bigger this year, so please join again, if you’d like.”

“Of course! Not just the tournament—I’ll help with everything you plan, Sato-san, and I’ll give it my all!”

“Without you, Sheila, nothing would even be possible. I really can’t thank you enough.”

“It’s me who should be thanking you. You’ve let me enjoy every event to the fullest—thank you so much.”

As we bowed to each other, we exchanged heartfelt thanks.

And those words were genuine—none of it would have been possible without Sheila.

I’m truly grateful to the king, who appointed such a capable Sheila to be my escort—even though I was dragged here by accident.

Next time I visit the capital, I’ll need to bring the king a thank-you gift.

“We should definitely send something to the king. If I hadn’t met you, Sheila, none of this would have gone so smoothly.”

“I want to thank him, too. If he hadn’t given me this opportunity, I’d still be sulking in the royal castle. He’s the one I’m most grateful to after you, Sato-san.”

“Then let’s decide what to give him before our next trip to the capital. Something useful from another world is a must, but I want to send something else too.”

“I think a rare delicacy would be great. The Queen Needle honey was a shock—it makes me feel like we could find something the king would love.”

“Ahh… good idea. Let’s send something incredibly delicious.”

Two big things defined last year for me: the bath, and the rare delicacies hunter.

The Queen Needle honey shocked me too—and discovering the potential in monster ingredients made me truly happy.

Velvet said she’d introduce us to the rare delicacies hunter. If we can talk to them and find something amazing to send, that would be perfect.

…Though I am a little anxious about sending monster food to someone who might hate that idea.

“Hehe, this was supposed to be a look back on last year, but we ended up talking about this year instead.”

“Right? I guess it just means we’re both really looking forward to what’s ahead.”

“I used to constantly dwell on the past, but now all I see is the future! That said—can I go to bed a little early?”

“Of course. Thanks again for joining me in this planning session.”

“No, thank you. These sessions are healing for me. Invite me anytime. Well then, good night, Sato-san.”

With that, Sheila returned to her room.

It feels a bit too early to sleep, but going to bed means tomorrow comes faster.

I can’t say I don’t understand how she feels.

…Actually, now I want tomorrow to come quickly too.sS

So, I headed back to my room and decided to sleep early.

It might be a weird way to end things, but it feels like us—and that’s good enough.

Getting ready for another start to our farming life tomorrow, I drifted off to sleep early.
