Chapter 71: The Silent One (11)

The Grand Temple—right in front.

Even in its half-ruined state, when viewed from the front like this, its majesty and presence are overwhelming.

“…It’s like a temple for giants.”

Mineha murmured.

Given the scale, I suppose everything here must feel like a giant’s construction to her.

“So this really is the deepest part of the dungeon?”

“Hey, I’ve been thinking about something.”

“What is it?”

“That land catfish said the dungeon was broken apart by the anomaly’s earthquake and then brought back together by another earthquake, right?”

“Yes.”

“And the anomaly is a failed Dungeon Lord.”

“Yes.”

“And this place—according to that land catfish—is the ‘Deepest Level,’ not the ‘Lowest Floor,’ right?”

“Yes. Given its scale, it definitely qualifies as the ‘Deepest Level.'”

If someone asked whether this was just the ‘Lowest Floor’ of a small-scale dungeon, the answer would be a definite no.
Everything here feels overwhelmingly grand and vast.

“Then where is this dungeon’s Dungeon Lord?”

“Huh? Now that you mention it…”

“Could the anomaly in this dungeon actually be its Dungeon Lord?”

“…No way.”

But considering the connections, it actually makes sense.
If that’s the case, everything lines up.

“Well, it’s just a thought. Anyway, we’re here—hmm?”

“Mineha?”

She suddenly swayed, as if feeling dizzy.

“…It’s nothing. Let’s go.”

“A-Alright.”

We stepped inside.

Before us stood a towering set of doors, massive enough for a giant to pass through.

They were fully open.

Beyond them, we could see a statue.

“This is…”

“…Amazing…”

As we entered, we were struck with awe.

The entire ceiling and skylights were made of stained glass.
Light poured through, casting a fantastical array of colors throughout the space.

Mineha and I were completely captivated.
Anyone would be.
The sheer beauty of it was breathtaking.

“This place is huge.”

“Yeah…”

Perhaps because it was a place of prayer, it was a massive circular space, large enough to hold hundreds of people.

At the far end of the prayer hall stood the stone statue.
It rested on a uniquely wavy, three-dimensional stone pedestal.

Golden inscriptions were densely engraved upon the pedestal, but I couldn’t read them.

The statue was of a white-robed girl.

What made it unique was the presence of color in certain areas.

Her hair was purple—an incredibly vivid shade of it.

That makes sense…

“This… is Generas…?”

“…?”

She had not six eyes, but two, and they too were purple.
Or perhaps… blue?
A shade between blue and violet.

Her raised right arm depicted the cosmos.
That must be “The Arm of the Celestial Sky.”

Floating around the statue were numerous translucent orbs, as if suspended in midair.
“Phantasmagoria,” perhaps?

“Hmm? What’s in her left hand…?”

She was holding something in her left hand.

That was—!

Suddenly, my relic 【The Silent One】 activated on its own.

(———…Restriction 【▢■■◇■■■■◇▢】…———)

What? A voice in my head… Restriction…?

What was that just now? What just happened?

“Ugh… I can’t… anymore…”

Mineha, who had been perched on my shoulder, suddenly slumped and fell.

“!?”

I hurriedly caught her, instinctively grabbing her with one hand.

“Hah… hah… haah… haah…”

“A-Are you okay?”

Sweat beaded on Mineha’s cheeks, and her breathing was erratic.

Could this be the strange pressure that Axe mentioned earlier?

I-I need to get us out of here.

Carefully, I lifted Mineha in both arms and carried her away from the statue.

“Why… why are you… fine…?”

Mineha muttered weakly, almost delirious.

Now that she mentioned it, I felt completely fine.

Why?

No—this wasn’t the time to worry about that.

I needed to get Mineha outside, fast.

As soon as we passed through the massive doors—

—The air changed.

“…!?”

A slow tremor began.

Then, an overwhelming shockwave and violent shaking erupted all around us.

“Whoa!?”

The sound of things shattering, collapsing, and crashing echoed from every direction.

Then, as suddenly as it began—absolute silence.

“…What… was that…?”

Still reeling from confusion, I stepped forward and exited the Grand Temple.

And then—

“What…?”

The scene before me was an unimaginable nightmare.

Six of those giant Mimic Boxes had appeared, along with hordes of puppets and monsters wandering aimlessly.

What in the world… had just happened?
