Just another Isekai Lover~

Chapter 354

When I returned to the mansion, I headed to the workshop. There, Rosalia and Mira, both looking a bit restless, were waiting for me. On the table, tea had been prepared. It seemed like Lelie had set it up for us.

I felt a little bad for Fabienne, but I decided to make her wait just a bit. When I mentioned this, she told me, “Don’t worry about me.” She’s such a kind girl. I hope Rosalia can learn a little from her and fix some of her more selfish tendencies.

Well, I do think one reason Rosalia has become a bit spoiled is because of me. Before I can fix Rosalia, I need to focus on myself first. I need to reflect on my actions.

I started drawing the blueprints for the sealing device while giving Rosalia some guidance. She finished it in no time. This is good. I’ll ask her to make one for the merchant guild to install as well.

“Now, all we need to do is install it on the door. After that, could you make another one? There’s a place at the Heine Merchant Guild that could use one too.”

“Understood! Leave it to me!”

She’s really motivated. She seems so happy to be trusted with this. I’m happy too. This way, Rosalia will be the one making the sealing device instead of me. That means I can focus on making magic potions on my end.

I had her bring a step ladder so we could install the device on the door. It seemed a bit much for Rosalia to handle on her own at this point, so I had one of the servants teach her how to install it. That should do the trick.

With the sealing device successfully installed, I left Rosalia and Mira, who were happily testing the door’s functionality, and headed to the potion-making room.

“I’m sorry for taking up some time.”

“No need to apologize. It’s not like we’re running low on magic potions, so I don’t think we need to rush.”

“That’s true.”

Fabienne has been coming to the Heine Frontier Count’s family estate to help make magic potions, but I think it would be a bit boring if that’s all we did. We could walk around the garden or visit the capital together. And maybe even take a nap together… no, maybe we’re not at the age for that anymore.

Fabienne seemed curious, as when we arrived at the potion room, she was opening and closing the door. I watched her fondly as I got ready to make the potions.

“Oh, I almost forgot. I need to try the improved plant fertilizer I made yesterday.”

“You’re right. I forgot too. Let’s go to the herb garden now.”

“Yeah, let’s do that.”

Once we were done with making the potions, we hurried to the herb garden. As usual, knights were keeping an eye on the surroundings.

“Thank you for your hard work.”

“Good work, everyone.”

“Ah, Julius-sama, Fabienne-sama, good day. This is nothing, really.”

They greeted us with smiles. I hope they’re not overdoing it. It seems like they’re volunteering for this work. I’d like to do something nice for everyone soon. Maybe bringing them some cold cookies would make them happy?

“This section will need this plant fertilizer, and this one needs this fertilizer…”

“It seems like it will take some time for the effects to show.”

“Well, they are plants. We’ll just have to wait patiently…”

Just then, in front of us, the herbs suddenly grew in a large burst. It was clearly an unnatural movement. Even Fabienne’s cute face looked a bit tense.

“Julius-sama, what was that just now?”

“Oops, did I make a mistake with the proportions? Heh heh…”

I scratched my head, trying to cover it up, but it seemed like it didn’t work very well. Fabienne’s face grew even more tense. Nero was smiling, but his smile was stiff.

He’s probably thinking about how to report this in his head. Maybe it’s fine to just leave it as it is.

“With this, wouldn’t it be possible to gather as many herbs as we want?”

“Well, maybe? Since we’re forcing them to grow rapidly, the side effects could be concerning.”

“I see.”

Fabienne nodded, seemingly satisfied. But the truth is, there are no side effects. I’m sorry I can’t tell you the real reason. If I did, it would probably cause a huge problem.

Controlling the growth of plants at will is something only a god should be able to do. For a mere human to do it would be blasphemous. If I were to do it, I’d probably be revered as a god, and I definitely don’t want that.

I somehow managed to finish spreading the plant fertilizer while avoiding eye contact with Fabienne and Nero.

“Now, all we have to do is wait for the results. Maybe I’ll keep a journal to track the progress?”

“That sounds interesting. I’m curious to see what kind of results we’ll get.”

So, Fabienne and I decided to start a plant observation journal. There might be some new discoveries. I’m starting to look forward to it.

By the time we returned to the mansion, it was already lunchtime. After lunch, we’d be practicing dance. Since I’m with Fabienne, I’m not worried about it.

“Rosalia, how’s the progress on the sealing device?”

“It’ll be done soon. Once it’s finished, I’ll go ahead and install it right away.”

“This afternoon, we have dance practice. You haven’t forgotten, right?”

Rosalia gave me a look as if she’d forgotten. I’m glad I double-checked. I explained to her that installing the sealing device wasn’t urgent, and she seemed to understand.

Rosalia has completely become a craftsman now. She’s excellent as a craftsman, but as a noble young lady, she’s a bit lacking in that regard. Since I’m the one who helped steer her in that direction, I can’t say anything too harsh. Perhaps her mother is silently troubled by it as well.

But the magical tools Rosalia makes are also one of the merchant guild’s main products. When I think of it that way, I can’t bring myself to be too hard on her. What should I do? The best situation would be if Rosalia realizes this and finds a balance, but… I guess I’ll have to look forward to her future growth.
