Chapter 221: Village Idol, Sort of?
Starting with my introduction, the self-introductions of the central figures in the village—primarily the beastmen—continued.
There was Rad the rabbitman, Melinard the sheepman, Drago the dragonman, and Nail the snake-man.
Each time they appeared, the excitement on the other side of the screen grew. Especially Drago and Nail seemed to be incredibly popular, perhaps influenced by the battle scenes with the Minotaur.
“Old men are supreme!”
“I’m getting married right now!”
“Village chief, what are you doing? Lift the restrictions now!”
“Village chief is too incompetent, hurry up with the recruitment!” etc.
From the comments, it seemed that there was generally a high demand from the female audience. As for my reputation…

“Well… This is also a sign of expectation, isn’t it?”
“Chief, don’t worry about it!”
“Ah! It seems like the village is going to grow!”
(Tsubaki, please come quickly… I might not be able to endure this anymore.)
While receiving words of comfort from Juri and grandiose encouragement from Takeshi… I watched the continuation of the self-introductions. This time, it was the lineup of female members like Roa, Beritoa, and Maria, each giving a brief greeting one by one.
Needless to say, the majority of the support came from the male audience. The comments were accelerating even more, filled with positive remarks.
“This one’s also incredibly popular.”
“Yes. There are some slightly extreme comments here and there, though.”
“Well, that’s within the expected range.”
As for the content, I refrained from discussing it, but there were many overly aggressive remarks typical of the internet. But well, the loyalty of those guys is questionable at best. Even if they apply, there’s no way they could become villagers.
That aside, we plan to announce the recruitment of villagers soon. For details, refer to the government’s special page. As for the conditions for joining and the pre-procedures, most of it has been entrusted to Masaki-san’s team.

“And that’s the end of the self-introduction time!”
Whether it was because time was running short or it was part of a teasing strategy, the introductions of the female members were surprisingly cut short. Following Natsuki’s declaration, a short break began. The streaming screen also switched to a fixed camera.
—
“How was it, Juri-san?”
“It went perfectly, Natsuki-chan!”
“Sigh, that’s a relief. I think next up was Rudo’s turn, right?”
“Yes, first comes building work, then road construction, followed by drainage work.”
“Ah, that’s right. During road construction, we should—”
And so, the streaming continued for about 40 minutes like this. It featured craftsman skills, technical work using magic, and proceeded with interviews with Summer.
In the latter half of the stream, we also made sure to touch upon the government’s official recognition:

– Prohibiting unauthorized entry into the premises
– Handling village-related inquiries through the government
– Commencing recruitment on the government’s dedicated site
Masaki-san’s team also appeared to remind everyone. Well, it’s unclear how effective it’ll be… If this doesn’t work, there’s nothing else we can do. We’ll handle it appropriately as it comes.
“And that’s it for today!”
Oh, it seems like the first day’s stream is coming to an end. As Natsuki started her closing remarks, the comments section also seemed reluctant to end.
To be honest, the one hour flew by.
“Oh, that’s right! The comments you all leave will affect the recruitment requirements, so be careful. Your identity might get revealed. See you later!”
With those last-minute additions—today’s stream came to a close. The start was impressive, but… the end was also quite something.
◇◇◇
In the evening of that day…
To celebrate the success of the live stream, we decided to have a banquet. Of course, this would also be material for content, so Takeshi went around filming various parts. Surprisingly, he seemed to enjoy the behind-the-scenes work and took the lead.
“Everyone, good job today. I think it was a great success for the first day.”
I’m not in a position to say it like that, but for now, I’ll offer words of encouragement.
“Well, no matter what anyone says, the star of the show today is Natsuki-chan… No, it’s everyone’s idol, Natsuki-chan!”
“No, no, no, Sakura-san, cut it out! That was just for business, supply and demand!”
“Oh, really? But you seemed quite natural at it.”
I agreed with Sakura’s opinion. If that was acting, she could definitely become a real idol, couldn’t she? But before I could utter those words, Touya interjected.
“Seriously, Natsuki is amazing as an idol. It’s totally different from her usual self—”
“Hey, Touya, you’re hopeless. Prepare yourself for a lecture later.”
“Huh, Natuski? Why me… uh… sorry…”
It seemed like the business activity was indeed real. Touya, carried away, touched a nerve with Natsuki and froze up. “Natsuki can even speak in such a low voice…” I was also taken aback by her hellish tone.
We shouldn’t touch upon this taboo any further. Sensing that, everyone around us stopped mentioning it. More accurately, none of the men did. The women, on the other hand, continued their conversation without a care—
“Oh, speaking of which, Village Chief—”
Finally, as the atmosphere began to relax, Natsuki suddenly spoke up. Given what just happened, I instinctively tensed up.
“What, I haven’t said anything yet.”
“No, no, not that… Can you appraise something for me?”
“Appraise? You mean, you?”
“Yeah. But just to let you know, I was planning to tell you right away.”
I didn’t understand what she meant, but I decided to appraise her anyway—
