Chapter 69
We were in a strategy meeting with Vigna and Galatea upon receiving a report from Neil that Georg and his group had arrived. By the way, it seems that the information about Georg’s unit coming came from dwarves living in the city where the human king resides. And apparently, a welcoming feast is being held in the castle with a lavish spread.
Even though the people are desperately trying to fend off hunger…
“Our time was treated with such indifference, it’s infuriating.”
“Well, it can’t be helped. We’re like decorations to them. But more importantly… they seem to be completely convinced of their victory… They probably don’t even realize how powerful the mine ants are…”
Thinking about those guys who are completely caught up in the mood of victory makes me want to bury my head in my hands. It’s true that Georg and his bodyguards are formidable. Just as Kyle was at the pinnacle as a mage, Georg possesses an extraordinary skill in swordsmanship.
“Master, just how strong is this Georg person?”
“Yeah, he might have a messed-up personality, but his swordsmanship is the real deal. It’s no exaggeration to say he’s the greatest swordsman in the kingdom. He could probably even cut through ultra-mithril alloy.”
“I see… It’s frustrating, but even in my prime, I don’t think I could have won against him in a sword fight…”
My words seemed to evoke memories of the past for Vigna, as she frowned in frustration. Of course, she uses both magic and swordplay, so losing purely in swordsmanship wouldn’t be dishonorable for her. But it seems her pride wouldn’t allow it.
“It’s okay, you’re stronger now with your magic gun-sword.”
“Of course… But thank you.”
Vigna nodded happily, her face turning slightly red at my words. I noticed Galatea watching us with an amused grin.
“So… what’s the plan? Knowing you, you’re probably scheming something mischievous, aren’t you?”
Vigna coughed lightly, trying to cover up, then asked me. There was a definite look of trust in her eyes. And I could sense it not just from Vigna but also from Galatea.
They both trust me too much, don’t they?
But I don’t mind being relied on by someone. Especially when it’s from these two close friends.
“Georg is unfortunately not foolish when it comes to battle. He must understand the disadvantage of bringing a large number of soldiers into a confined space like the mine, and he knows the importance of knowing the enemy’s information. So, I’ll give him that.”
“I see… You mean, feeding him false information, Master?”
“No, no, I wouldn’t be so rude to my dear brother. But… I might accidentally hand over a map with a little shortage of information.”

“So, it’s kind of like that…”
“Hehehe, Master seems to be enjoying this more than anything.”
As I chuckled, Vigna shook her head in exasperation. But it couldn’t be helped. It’s just my nature.
And Vigna, seeming accustomed to it by now, wore a mischievous grin just like mine.
“How do you plan to convey this information then? You’re not going to just straightforwardly tell them, right? They’re on guard too.”
“Oh, of course not. Luckily, we have soldiers who admire Georg among us. They’ll take care of it on their own.”
“Ah, so that’s why you brought Georg’s spy along for this battle.”
I chuckled at Vigna’s words and nodded. They don’t know that we can investigate humans through my ‘World Library’.
They probably think they’ve infiltrated us perfectly, so we’ll use that to our advantage.
“Vigna, Galatea, tell the soldiers and dwarves to start preparing for the final battle with the mine ants. Make it seem like we’re rushing because Georg has arrived.”

And so, the final battle begins.
