Chapter 89: There Were Hard-Training Men in the Garden

The next day, Rest, Viola, and Primula decided to go shopping in town.

Today is also a day off from school, so it’s what you might call a holiday date.

As Rest left the Rosemary Marquis Family’s mansion with the sisters on each side, they found a large group of people in the garden.

“You all lack spirit! Add 500 more push-ups!”

“””Yes!”””

The one in the garden was Eillish Rosemary, the sisters’ mother, and young magicians serving the Rosemary Marquis Family.

Rest recognized the men doing strength training with their upper bodies bare. They were the ones who challenged him to a race yesterday and lost.

“Oh, Rest-san!”

“Young ladies!”

“”””Good morning!””””

“Oh…”

As Rest and the Rosemary sisters noticed them, the men doing push-ups stood up and greeted them.

At the forefront of them was Nick Bale, the son of a wealthy nobleman.

“Are you going out? Please take care!”

Although he had boasted yesterday about not recognizing them as the sisters’ fiancé, today he was unusually humble.

It must be because he was overwhelmed by the overwhelming defeat in yesterday’s race.

(I wonder if it’s because of the Lady’s discipline…)

“Enough chatter! Resume your training!”

“””Yes!”””

When Eillish gave the command, the shirtless magicians immediately resumed their push-ups.

She was carrying out her words. Eillish had said she would retrain them last night… and it seemed she had started the discipline right away.

(I sympathize, but… they sowed the seeds themselves. Sorry, but they have to do their best…)

“Well then, Madam, we’re going out.”

“Yes, be back before it gets too late. And both of you, don’t rely too much on Rest-kun in front of everyone.”

“We know! Don’t say that in front of everyone!”

“Yes… we’ll be going now.”

Viola and Primula said with embarrassment, pulling Rest’s hands.

Although his affectionate behavior with the sisters might seem like it would provoke jealousy from the men… surprisingly, no one looked at them with envy.

Nick and the other young magicians, sweating with their bare upper bodies, gave them a cheerful smile as they saw them off.

“I guess it means I’ve been recognized…”

“The Rosemary Marquis Family is meritocratic. From top to bottom.”

“If you have the ability, birth doesn’t matter… Not only Lady but also Granny was like that, right?”

It seems that the family has been like that for generations.

Though it’s a bit late, Rest chuckled at how he had been welcomed into such a great family, then headed for the carriage parked in front of the gate.

Pulling the sisters’ hands, he put them in the carriage and sat down with them in the seats.

“By the way… do you have anything you want to buy today?”

“Huh, not really?”

“Nothing in particular.”

“Huh? Nothing?”

Rest blinked his eyes.

He had been asked to accompany them shopping, so he thought they must have something they wanted to buy… but could it be that they have no purpose?

“Geez… Rest still doesn’t understand women’s hearts. Do we need to educate him as our fiancé?”

“That’s cute too. If you understand women’s hearts too well and become popular, it would be troublesome. It’s just right as it is, isn’t it?”

Viola and Primula smiled wryly as they looked at each other.

From Rest’s perspective, he was genuinely puzzled.

“Um… what do you mean?”

“We’re not going shopping because we have something we want to buy, but because the purpose is to go shopping with Rest.”

“That’s right. We invited you because we want to enjoy shopping together.”

The two said as if it were obvious.

In his previous life, due to not having much interaction with women and not being wealthy enough to indulge in shopping as a hobby, this was a concept that was foreign to Rest.

(It’s not about having something to buy, but rather, the purpose is to enjoy shopping as a form of entertainment…)

He had heard that women enjoyed shopping, but now he realized what that truly meant.

“Let’s enjoy the time together like lovers, choosing clothes and having tea.”

“I’ll make sure to teach you well, Rest-sama. Be prepared!”

They added with a playful tone.

Looking back, it had been over a year since they met, and although they had shared baths together, they hadn’t really had typical dates. Their priorities had been studying for school entrance exams, then adjusting to school life after enrollment, leaving little time for traditional dating.

(Maybe they’re so excited because of that…)

Rest realized he had been slow to catch on. Despite having such wonderful fiancées, he had been too passive and inattentive.

(I need to be more proactive about planning dates if I don’t want them to get tired of me…)

Rest resolved in his heart that he needed to do more things befitting of a lover to keep Viola and Primula from leaving him.
