He continued to catch and hunt down fleeing enemies one after another.

Within an hour, the battle was over. Most of the Locust Imps had been eradicated, and peace returned to the vast fields.

Albert clapped his hands, commending the mages.

Relief echoed from the surroundings, and the mages gathered around Albert.

Some of the mages approached Rest and patted him on the shoulder.

Rest thanked the older mage who praised him sincerely.

One of the reasons Rest was brought here was to meet with them. The Rosemary Marquis family had mansions in both the capital and their territory. Viola and Primula lived in the capital mansion where Rest was employed as a butler apprentice. The territory was mainly entrusted to a steward, but occasionally, Albert and his wife Eilish returned to manage it. The mages present here were all private soldiers stationed in the territory, and Rest had rarely met them before.

Among the many mages praising Rest’s magic, there were some who looked displeased. Most of them were young male mages. They didn’t seem to appreciate Rest’s achievements and clicked their tongues discontentedly.

Albert clapped his hands again and addressed his subordinate mages. Standing next to him was Dibble, a middle-aged man in a butler’s uniform, who had appeared unnoticed.

“I’ll accompany Dibble here to greet Count Valerie before returning to the Rosemary Marquis estate. I want everyone else to head back first. Rest assured, I’ll give out rewards later. Of course, I’ll also cover the carriage fare for your return… but if you’re tight on money, you’re welcome to run back with body enhancement magic, okay?”

Laughter arose among the mages.

Despite being a son-in-law, Albert seemed to be well-liked by his subordinates.

It seemed like the job was done. Another contribution to the Rosemary Marquis family had been made. Rest breathed a sigh of relief and decided to return to the Rosemary Marquis estate as Albert had instructed.
