Chapter 208: The Panacea is Completed
Returning to my room, I immediately tried to make a cooling device using the method I had just discovered. Although there was a disadvantage of having to draw two magic circles, it worked without any problem. This would work.
Now it’s just a matter of consuming magic power. Is it okay to put an energy-saving magic circle in between the two? I’ll need three magic circles. If I wanted to mass-produce them, it would be a lot of work.
Good luck, all you magic tool makers. I’ll do my best to make magic Potions.
The preparation is now complete. All I have to do now is wait for the ingredients to be gathered. It will be completed soon. Speaking of completion, the panacea should be ready by tomorrow. The quality will be poor, but if we make three and all of them are successful, His Majesty the King will be relieved, and he will recognize the capabilities of the Royal Palace Potions Division.
The success rate so far has been poor. For my part, I even think they did a good job of completing it the way they did in the past. There is no doubt that the royal potion master’s skills are solid.
If J want to spread decent magic potions quickly, it’s best to rely on the Royal Palace Potions Masters. But they have a very high level of loyalty or expectation toward me, don’t they? Even if I said, “Please use the name of the Royal Palace Magic Potion Division to spread the word about new ways of making potions,” my name would surely be mentioned. What should I do?
There’s no point in thinking about it. Let’s be flexible when the time comes. I wish I was an adult, but I’m still a child. Regardless of whether those around me think so or not.
It seems that brother Alex also has plans to go up to the castle today, so I decided to go with him. The carriage is not the one sent by the royal family, but a carriage belonging to the Margrave Heine family, so we can ride in peace. If I want, I can open the curtains and look out while we go.

Even though it was early in the morning, there were quite a lot of people and the place was very lively. I hope the capital will soon be as lively as this.
“Today is the day the panacea will be completed, right? From your own point of view, what do you think, Julius?”
“I have no doubt that they will be able to complete it, but the quality is not quite there yet. Once we finish improving the icehouse, we will be able to preserve the ingredients in good condition for a longer period of time, so I think the quality will improve.”
“I see. You have contributed a lot to the royal family and to this country, haven’t you?”
What? Why is it in question form? I’m scared. What is my brother trying to say? Does it have something to do with today’s visit to the castle?
“Why did you suddenly say such a thing?”
Brother Alex narrowed his eyes and arched his eyebrows. Am I in trouble?
“Well, it seems like there’s talk of giving you a medal.”
“A medal?!”
“Yes. It is awarded to those who have made a special contribution to the country.”
That’s what it means to be recognized by the State, right? Is it something that a child who is not yet an adult can receive? He must have noticed my confusion. The older brother opened his mouth.

“No one at your age has ever received such a medal. If this happens, You will be the first. This might be an opportunity for other nobles to want their own children to receive medals.”
Nobles do that all the time. They are quick to jump at the chance to get a medal, a fiefdom, or a title. If I were to receive a medal here, it would likely cause a stir in the country. This is one place where I would have to decline.
“Brother, I decline the offer. I do not need a reward. If I can prevent a national crisis, that is enough for me.”
“I see. Thank you, Julius. I’ll say that.”
My brother sighs with relief and smiles bitterly. Apparently, brother was against giving me the medal. But I guess he couldn’t just decide on his own, so he talked with me here.
I don’t think there is any need for him to be so concerned about me, but perhaps my presence in the royal capital is getting bigger and bigger. I am unwilling. I want to do something about it, but I don’t know if I can. The only thing I can think of is to stay in the territory capital.
After parting with brother at the stop, I headed straight for the compounding room. The room seemed to be filled with somewhat of a feverish atmosphere, as the panacea was nearing completion.
“Julius-sensei! We have been waiting for you.”
“Look at this! It’s almost ready.”
“I can’t believe we’ve completed all three. That’s an amazing feat. As expected of Julius-sensei’s teachings.”

This is not good. Perhaps it was because they had been making magic potions for three days straight, but they were in a strange state of excitement. I have to calm everyone down first.
“Please calm down. We haven’t finished the magic potion yet. There is a good chance that it will fail from here. Let’s stay alert until the end.”
“Yes, Julius-sensei.”
I think we’re okay now, but a complete master-servant relationship has been established. I guess it can’t be helped. Is this okay with Giovanni-sama, the head of the Royal Palace Potions Division? Ah, it seems to be fine. Is he trying to make me the Head of the Royal Palace magic potions Division instead? I refuse, you know?
I looked around at the pots of each team and waited for the right moment. The liquid simmering in the pot began to glow slightly. It was a sign that the potion was ready. When I checked with my “Appraisal” skill, it confirmed that the elixir had definitely been completed.
Everyone must have noticed it. They turned off the heat, stopped applying pressure, and transferred the liquid in the pot to the special containers I had prepared in advance. Three in total. We were able to make it without missing a single anything.
“You did a great job. Now you can make a panacea.”
“Thank you, Julius-sensei. I never thought that the fundamentals of how it was made were wrong. A single magic potion made by several people. I had never thought of that.”
Giovanni-sama said with deep emotion. While the others listened, they were writing down notes so they wouldn’t forget what they were feeling now. I am sure those notes will be useful in the future. I hope you will pass it on to future generations. But please keep my name out of it….Maybe I should check it later.
